About me

I always loved creating fascinating stories and situations for player characters to react and solve. My promise is that sessions will be engaging, intense, and dramatic, as we experience the stories of the world and our characters unfold before our eyes. Writing this after doing over 40 sessions for SPG. I first got into DMing for DnD for family and friends, eventually branching out to online communities. While I maintain those sessions I also was curious if I could make a living out of being a DM as all of the players I DMed for showed enthusiastic support and eagerness for each and every session. Branching out to SPG I started with just a single session, and they loved it. Then when Dragonlance released I put out a few more sessions that wouldn't conflict with my work schedule and with all of their enthusiastic love, support and encouragement for me as a DM and for the stories we tell as well as their eagerness for next session "Is it (session day) yet?" I decided to try to make this silly hobby a full time job. I would not be doing this without the massive amount of support and encouragement from my players. With that, I would like to invite you to join our community. I have been making stories with systems similar to DnD since I was in Highschool. When I started playing DnD and eventually gained the confidence to become a DM in every game I was in my players kept asking me to extend the session length, even upwards of lasting the whole day. Then when I learned people have made a living doing this I decided to reach out to StartPlayGames and see what I can add to this community!

After not playing for a very long time, Cam took an hour or 2 to walk me through player creation, world setting, and party layout. He really sets the scene and is an amazing storyteller! Makes you want to come back and join for many more sessions.

Camerox is incredibly fun and easy to play with. He does an amazing job setting up the VTT and the world, and is highly responsive to players. He has a ton of experience and is quick to clarify rules but also has enough flexibility that you feel your characters have their own agency. I would recommend him to any player, beginner or veteran.

Fun combat, storytelling, and worldbuilding. Makes unique enemies and enjoys helping players make unique characters. He rarely if ever cancels a session. I am coming back for another campaign!

I’m played with Cam as my DM for two year-long campaigns now, and one of the unsung attributes if a DM is keeling a campaign going an on track despite occasional issues with players schedules or new players popping in an out of the table. But Cam has a steady hand and creates a fun, yet challenging, and consistent TTRPG experience, and quietly is a proponent of the “rule of cool”. There’s a reason why I’m about to start my third campaign in a row with him. So no need to look further, sign up for one of his Hane’s and you won’t be disappointed!

10 sessions into a Dragonlance campaign and really loving Cam as a DM. Somehow he always finds the sweet-spot to make every session memorable. For the campaign overall he strikes a great balance among RP, storytelling, combat and player interaction. He gives enough personality to NPCs and villains to make us care about them without bogging down the story. And the battles are amazing! There's isn't a single fight I didn't think we were a round or two away from a TPK but somehow the party always manages to squeak out a victory, not by DM manipulation but because Cam seems to have real insight into what we're capable of. If there's a space open in one of his campaigns, grab it, you won't be disappointed.

Safety
How Count Camerox creates a safe table

My goal with how I have FoundryVTT setup is to make learning it as painless and as simple as possible. I use a beautiful UI mod to organize your moves into Actions, Bonus Action, Free Actions, and Reactions so you know which abilities are which. Also, with a simple, target enemy and a click of your weapon, the game will automatically roll to hit and damage leading to minimal time between turns and a faster paced game! No one likes waiting forever to get back to their turn. Lastly, I make sure at the end of every session to do a recap of the important lore bits we experienced as well as what lies ahead in the next session! Recently I have purchased Dungeon Alchemist so that I can make beautiful looking maps!
