About the adventure
Liberty by Night is a sandbox game for Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Edition. Players take the roles of young vampires in the small city of Liberty, Arizona (just north of Phoenix). Liberty is currently a "free city" controlled by the Anarch Movement, but both the Camarilla and the Sabbat have their eyes on winning this coveted territory. The game is "player driven" which means the kind of characters the players make both builds and drives the plot. I provide the sandbox and players determine which direction the story goes.
Meet the Game Master
About me
I'm John Wick, famous for my work on Legend of the Five Rings, 7th Sea, Cat: A Little Game about Little Heroes, Orkworld, Houses of the Blooded, and a dozen more RPGs. My unorthodox GM techniques and tricks can be found in Play Dirty (volumes 1 and 2).

Creating your character
We will use Session Zero to make characters. We will make characters together. All characters will be Generation 13. They may or may not be Anarchs. Both Camarilla and Sabbat characters may find their way into the city, but I expect the players to create a "coterie" of like-minded characters who are looking to protect the city from outside forces (which include the Camarilla, Sabbat, Werewolves, Mages, and other dangers).
What to expect
Preparing for the session
No prep needed. We will make characters together. This is not a PVP game. This is a story about a small group of very small vampires facing the inhuman, immortal undead powers of the night who want to kill them and take their stuff.
What John Wick brings to the table
Players receive: * A player-facing guide to the city with everything their characters know. * A soundtrack of background sounds and music. * And other goodies as the game goes on.

How John Wick creates a safe table
I run a "hands off" game. I do not have a story I want to tell the players. That's not my job. My job, as a GM, is to help players tell their characters' stories. As a GM, I take pride in my ability to portray different characters with voices, mannerisms, and sometimes costumes (changing hats) to indicate different characters. I also have many mysteries in the city the players can discover. This is also a horror game, and that means characters will find themselves in terrible situations. Just as the Count himself said, "There are worse things than death." In the World of Darkness, that is a statement of fact as real as gravity.
