After Dark (A Savage Rifts Campaign)

Rumors hold of entire kingdoms ruled by vampires in Mexico, but surely these are just rumors. Vampires are more akin to wild dogs, right? Right?

About the adventure

Savage Rifts in the Southwest! Rumors of entire kingdoms of vampires surely cannot be true. The only vampires you've seen if you've seen one at all are feral creatures, more akin to wild animals. However, there's a saying, prepare for the worst and hope for the best. So, you might feel a little silly carrying some holy water and a few wooden stakes, but better than than to end up worse than dead. . .undead. If you run into the Coalition or some monstrous creature from a Rift, water and wood won't do much but make them laugh at best. So, you best strap on some armor and a mega damage pistol or sword, because the unexpected is what one can expect in this new frontier of "Werelions, Mutant Tigers and Megadamage Bears, Oh My!"

About me

I started playing D&D shortly before Advanced D&D came out. I was playing with the blue book and was instantly enchanted, playing a fighter delving into a dungeon and encountering a giant spider. I had recently read Lord of the Rings. Since then I've played many different systems, including Savage Worlds, Pathfinder, Fate, Apocalypse World and of course every edition of D&D except for 2nd edition. I find player agency one of the most important aspects of game play; what the players do should matter and have an impact on the world. I am also a big fan of emergent play; meaning that things that happen during play can take on importance and have an impact on the story. I enjoy exploration and role-playing and prefer to use maps and miniatures (tokens) for most battles. I believe the player's choices for characters should impact and guide the story and encourage players to develop personal goals and narratives for their characters to pursue.

Character creation

Creating your character

All Savage Rift books are available to make characters using a custom campaign on savaged.us for creating characters. I will help everyone make characters before the game and if someone new joins after the campaign starts I will work with them to integrate well into the existing group.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

You will need to join my Discord join for voice communication during the game and also access the Roll20 virtual table-top during the game. Knowledge of Savage Worlds and Savage Rifts is helpful but not required. This will be a game friendly to beginners that will also be geared to engaging experienced players.

What Cendragon brings to the table

I will provide a link to a customized savaged.us campaign for people to build characters and I will also make myself available to help everyone make their characters. There will also be a link to my Discord site, which we will use for voice communication during games and also where we can talk between games and a link to the game on Roll20, where we will be using the virtual table-top.

Safety

How Cendragon creates a safe table

It's important that everyone playing the game feels comfortable with the tone of the game and any scenes in the game. We will take at least one break every session and there will be a deck of safety cards that players can pull a card out on the table if any situation ever gets too uncomfortable for them. Respect of everyone playing together is essential.
