About the adventure
This is a Learn to Play Campaign. You have heard the numerous whispered rumors that something is odd in the village of Orlane. Visitors and travelers have gone missing, the townsfolk have been acting strangely, merchants riding through report of empty farmhouses and overgrown fields. Farmers and their families are fleeing the village seeking to rebuild their farms far away from the troubled location. This once prosperous community is now being shunned by casual travelers. Can you and your companions discover the secret behind the bizarre behavior of the residents? Will you discover what has become of the missing people? Can you restore peace in this formerly tranquil village? During this campaign you will: š£ Have a chance to interact with over 50 villagers and visitors in Orlane. ā Gather clues and piece together what is happening in the village. š¤·āāļø Navigate through the factions within the community to determine who can be trusted, and who not to trust. š Explore the surrounding region. āØ Find the sources of Orlane's problems and resolve them to liberate the people This is a campaign for 3 to 5 players starting at low levels and progressing to 6th or 7th level. Your actions will determine how this story unfolds. It combines mystery with the typical DnD elements of role play and exploration of the village and surroundings. The beginning is heavy role play and exploration, and the finish can be mostly combat with player opportunities to use their skills and wits to minimize the combat. Emphasis will be on the situation set forth and the story the players create! The setting is Wildemount, along the Menagerie Coast just south of the Othemoor swamp.
This campaign gives you the freedom to explore the remote village of Orlane and its surroundings. This is an ideal campaign for beginners who can experience sections of heavy role play and interaction with NPCs, exploration as you find your way around the village and the surrounding areas to gather clues and information on the disappearance of villagers and travelers, and combat where you can defeat an evil presence affecting the village and the surrounding area. We will be using the 2024 rule set and basing characters on the new Player's Handbook. I create and use maps made especially for this campaign and others to fill out side quests and actions. Full set of session notes are posted to assist in rounding out your notes and as a reference to the party's progress.

What I provide
What you can expect: Maps, dice rolls, character sheets, and handouts will be on Roll20. Voice and music/ambient sounds will be over Discord. There is a dedicated discord channel for the game which will include areas for out of session role play, general session notes, lore and setting knowledge, and announcements. I will supply custom maps for most encounters and settings. The move to a map is not a sign that things will devolve into combat. Instead, there will be things on the map for you to take note of and use to your advantage. These maps are also more immersive with detail and color to make things interesting and show terrain and objects with which you can interact or use. I do create a written summary of each session on both the Roll20 game forum and on Discord for your personal enjoyment and/or review. Within the game, I will provide quality of life macros and mods to help smooth out game play. I assemble a soundtrack for each session to help with immersion and mood for the settings. You will find plenty of handouts to help with visualization and your reference further on in the campaign. I also supply a variety of tokens for NPCs and adversaries which assist with identification during encounters. Along with that, my NPCs are my characters in the game. Important NPCs have their own values, goals and objectives and will usually act with their own self-interest in mind. Do not expect creatures to fight to the last, nor will they purposefully try to exterminate you without cause. Most will attempt to flee when over matched and will not pursue characters who flee if it goes against their objectives or nature.
Gameplay details
The campaign will start with a session 0. My agenda for session 0 can be found here. My table rules can be found here. I will make X, N, and O cards available during the game for players to react to any objectionable content within the game. These will be anonymous and will provide us with a chance to dial back any objectionable content or figure out how to make the situation more suitable for all the players. Following sessions, I will be available for debriefing on the content of the session. Where needed, we will discuss the direction and where the content needs to be adapted or changed. I have a separate channel in the Discord server for the players to acknowledge the actions of others (Stars) and add wishes for opportunities, content, and/or action they would like to see moving forward (Wishes). As a matter of service, I am usually available at most times to have a discussion on aspects of the game you find either troubling or would like to see more often.

How will character creation work
We will create characters together during Session 0 using the 2024 rule set for DnD 5e. Source material will be the Player's Handbook (2024). We will roll (4d6dl1), with four players contributing a d6 roll for each attribute score to form a common pool of attribute scores which the players will use to create their characters. This gives the excitement of a random set of numbers but start all characters off with a common baseline. If the numbers are particularly low, I will have you re-roll one or two of the values. Please do come with a character concept and a brief (one page) background story of your character if you so desire. Additional requests for information from your back story will be given once your character has been made.
