About the adventure

Twisted monstrosities—former test subjects of the Radiant Church—stalk the forest and slaughter any who come near their village. Nearby, the city of Luhyarna huddles behind sealed gates, battling a madness-inducing scourge, while the creatures remain outside, waiting for their chance to get into the city and eat everyone in sight. The adventurers must investigate the village of Jägerweiler, go toe-to-toe with the worst of the monsters, and uncover the horrific eldritch experiments performed by an occult branch of the Radiant Church. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In this 5th Edition adventure for four to five characters of 7th level, your characters will face off against terrifying creatures as you uncover the sickening and twisted secrets of the mysterious Jägerweiler village. Will you be able to fight off the horrors of the night? Or will your mind and body break against the evil truths uncovered? It is expected this campaign take 2-3 sessions to finish at most, depending in the depth of exploration done by the players.

About me

Hey, what's up! My name is Andrew, although I typically go by C3LL (pronounced cell), and, although I might be a relatively new DM compared to others on here, I have lots experience with 5e DMing as I (unfortunately or fortunately) have been casted into my groups forever DM role. However, I love DMing 5e and any excuse to play is one I would take :). English is not my first language so my vocabulary might not be as *extensive* as others, but my main priority is that everyone has a blast at my table! Whether you prefer role-play or combat heavy sessions, I don't mind, come along and lets roll some d20s!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will be discussed during session 0, however, start making characters as early as you’d like! All characters are to be made on Roll20 as a basis. Due to the highly thematic nature of this game, I urge players to use the character options given by the Steinhardt Guide to The Eldritch Hunt sourcebook. However, if you wish to make a character using an Official 5e sourcebook instead, you are more than welcome to, as long as you try to fit with the established theme of the world the game is taking place in.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players need a functioning microphone, access to Discord, Roll 20 VTT, and D&D beyond (only if not using Roll20 for character creation). Players do not need a webcam, however it is HIGHLY encouraged. Any questions can be answered before or during session 0, where I will describe the campaign more in detail as well as lay down some ground rules.

What Andrew brings to the table

I bring the Steinhardt Guide to The Eldritch Hunt sourcebook on Roll20 for my players to use during character creation. I will also have maps with dynamic lighting, special effects, and background music on Roll20 prepared for them.

Safety

How Andrew creates a safe table

As a DM, I typically lean more into a story-driven combative campaign, where players are typically free to explore the world they are in while following the general path of the story. I’m very laid back on the rules when it comes to out-of-combat game play, but during combat I do tend to rely on them more heavily. Combat should always be challenging, but never impossible unless it is abundantly clear. HOWEVER depending on the skill level of the party, I will adjust the difficultly accordingly, so don’t ever be worried about being super optimal. Players will talk to both me and the rest of the party during session 0, at which they may set boundaries for any content they do not wish to experience.
