About the adventure

Spirits of the forest have gone missing recently. These disappearances, though not uncommon, have increased in frequency and a ragtag group of animated plants decide to get to the bottom of it. Join Bottlespeaker, Fluff Fang, Popcorn and Reaching Rings as they go on a grand adventure and explore the strange world of the humans. Hello! Maybe you are new to TTRPGs or maybe you're branching out from your game of choice and Pathfinder caught your eye. Well, this is the game for you! Learn the basics of the Pathfinder 2e system with a DM who has been running PF2e since the playtest with this special holiday themed one-shot. This adventure gives you a taste of everything: combat, puzzles, roleplay and most fun of all, the chaos that only adventurers can cause!

About me

Hello weary travelers, stay awhile and listen. My name is Jason, and I have been playing TTRPGs in earnest since 2013, starting with Pathfinder 1e, and I have been a Game Master since 2016. I excitedly transitioned to Pathfinder 2e during the playtest, and have not looked back. I have a current group that has been together since 2019, working their way through our second long term campaign. I have hosted close to 500 sessions, accounting for thousands of hours of play. Other notable things about me: ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ“Current student pursuing Post-Bacc Finance degree ๐Ÿ’ช Gym addict โ™Ÿ๏ธ Board game aficionado ๐Ÿ‰ Cosplayer and annual Dragoncon attendee ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ 3d Printing addict ๐Ÿป Beer lover ๐Ÿ• Dog dad ๐ŸŽจ Miniature painter

Character creation

Creating your character

This particular adventure has pre-generated characters to choose from (druid, bard, barbarian, rogue). If you wish to have a custom made character you must contact me and have everything submitted(character sheet, art, etc...) at a minimum 24 hours before start of the session. This being a one-shot I cannot dedicate time at the start to character creation as that could easily take an hour or two depending on player experience.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Links to Foundry VTT and a Discord will be provided prior to session. Having accounts and some familiarity with these programs/websites will be required to participate so please have these setup and some understanding of their functionality before start. You can always reach out to me for guidance on doing this. All players at a minimum will require voice comms and internet/computer access for Foundry Vtt. Voice comms should be of relatively good quality with minimal background interference to make it easy for everyone to hear and understand. Webcams are not required though I will utilize mine.

What Jason brings to the table

๐ŸŽฒVTT utilizing custom maps/tokens/assets as required. I have a curated list of modules I've been using to enhance the experience on either side of the table. ๐ŸŽ™๏ธI will be doing character voices (badly at times) there will be ambient music for those interested along with some interesting spell/combat effects. ๐Ÿ†’ Rule of cool is always on the table and with my experience with the system we can usually work it in. But, sometimes cool things are really hard to accomplish and sometimes untenable for the situation. I always make things explicit and will be clear with rulings ๐Ÿ‘Š No punches will be pulled in combat. Good planning and teamwork is rewarded via victory and minimizing risk. Gung-ho Rambo-esque "watch this, hold my drink" is always fun but comes with risks, so be warned.

Safety

How Jason creates a safe table

As a one shot there will not be a preamble before starting but beyond the two safety tools listed below the table will operate by the Golden Rule: treat others as you wish to be treated which should be with respect and understanding. I have an open door policy where if anyone becomes uncomfortable they merely need to private message me and corrective actions will be taken. Finally, breaks will be scheduled but also taken as requested.
