About the adventure
In Price of Penance, you were once a cog in the vast, unyielding machine of the Imperium. Perhaps you toiled endlessly as a lowly scribe in the Administratum, transcribing bureaucratic decrees for lifetimes without end. Maybe you marched as a foot soldier in the Imperial Guard, witnessing worlds burn and comrades fall in the Emperor’s name. Or you could have served the murky interests of a Rogue Trader dynasty, navigating the deadly waters of diplomacy, trade, and intrigue. No matter your past, your fate is the same now, branded a heretic and condemned to die. The truth of your guilt or innocence is irrelevant. The Imperium does not care. On the eve of your execution, you are dragged from the shadow of the gallows and thrown into a dark, echoing chamber. Before you stands the cold, unflinching figure of Inquisitor Solomon Kurg, a man whose presence alone feels like a blade at your throat. With a voice as sharp as the Emperor’s wrath, he offers you a choice: serve as one of his acolytes, or face certain death at dawn. You accept the offer, of course, what choice do you really have? But there is no trust in the Inquisition, only chains. A cranial detonator is embedded in your brain, a constant reminder of your expendability, and your new mission begins. You are tasked with investigating a conspiracy, one whose very existence could spell ruin if it succeeds. Kurg has traced it to Voll, a world filled with acid rain, and heretics at every turn. Voll is a world of misery and ambition, its upper levels gleaming with the wealth of the elite, while its underbelly festers with crime, filth, and the forgotten. Within its darkened alleys and forgotten vaults, dangerous factions plot and hidden secrets linger. You must navigate this treacherous hive, tracking your quarry through its perilous levels, from the golden heights of the nobles to the toxin-choked depths of the underhive. But your mission is not simply to survive. You must wrestle with the very nature of redemption and penance. Will you succeed in redeeming yourself in the eyes of the Emperor, or will you perish, just another forgotten soul lost in the cold, uncaring void of the Imperium? Your choices will determine your fate. Betrayal lurks in every shadow, and the line between salvation and damnation is thinner than ever.

About me
Hey there! My name is Shane, and I’m a professional dungeon master. Storytelling is in my blood, and tabletops allow me to explore the many worlds that float around in my head. I’ve spent a lot of time diving into different settings and systems that have helped me find what’s best for me. I believe that the way I run games encourages and helps players open up and be able to find ample opportunities to engage and interact with the worlds that they play in. So if you are a new or experienced player, and are interested in hiring me to run a game, reach out to me!

Creating your character
Character creation will take place collectively during Session 0, using the all the available core and supplemental books.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Make sure you have a mic, a Forge VTT account, and a rough idea of the type of character you'd like to play. During Session 0, we will go over the rules, explore the setting, and finalize characters together.
What Shane brings to the table
I provide official PDFs, Foundry VTT modules, and custom battlemaps, along with detailed artwork for locations and NPCs. Additionally, there’s a dedicated Discord server for all the games I run, complete with a music bot to play all the grimdark choir chants we could ever need during sessions!

How Shane creates a safe table
In Session 0, or privately, we will discuss any boundaries and topics that should be avoided. If something comes up during a session that makes you uncomfortable, you can message me privately, and we will skip or adjust the narration or content accordingly.
