Here, There be Dragons (Tyranny of Dragons)
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
New Player friendly! Session 0 (character creation) and Session 1 are free! This campaign is one of the first for DnD 5e, and has a lot built in to help new adventurers set out on mighty quests and forge their own epic tales in the Forgotten Realms! As the return of a great and powerful evil looms on the horizon, you'll be taken from your quaint village and travel across the Sword Coast, tracking down strange cultists, forging alliances, and if fate allows: preventing the Mother of Dragons from returning. While this is a high-stakes adventure, I run my games focused mainly on story. I'm here to put challenges in your path, but the goal is for you to beat those challenges. I normally try help give tactical help, new player advice, and general tips until the party is about 3rd level or so. I want new players to understand how the game works and how everyone's abilities play off each other before taking training wheels off. For the most part, I am simply the narrator describing the consequences of your actions, be they good or bad. This adventure will take you from 1st level to 15th level.
Game style
Theater of the Mind
“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

Storytelling
Max is an incredible storyteller. In all the games I've played with him (both pre-made and homebrew), he's done an amazing job building a fun and engaging world. From combat to in-character roleplay, the man brings it and keeps keeps the fun rolling. The challenges are real and the laughs are abundant. Truly the best DM I have ever had! :3
Just finished up the dragonlance campaign with Max and I have to say, I had a blast. The story telling was great as was the effort in voicing characters and allowing for player creativity. Also never hesitated to help if there was a ruling or ability which wasn't straight to the point on how it could be used. I'm looking forward to continuing in another upcoming adventure. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

How to prepare
We will use Discord for communication and DnD Beyond for character creation, roll tracking, and any maps that may come up. So, you'll need a Discord account and DnD Beyond account (no subscriptions or payments needed). You will need a microphone for us to talk to each other, but no webcam necessary. You aren't required to make a character or study rules before Session 0, but please think about what story you would like to tell, the kind of character you want to play as (or for newer players, what your favorite fictional character you want to be is!).
What I provide
I bring tons of official and homebrew content from DnD Beyond and love creating new things for players. If there is an item, spell, or anything character related you want, let me know and I will create it for you. I also utilize DnD Beyond's map system and character creation system for combat and roll tracking. I also utilize Discord for us to talk to each other, take notes, or share memes! I will do my best to voice the various creatures and characters you come across, but I don't require you to do a voice if you don't wish to. Combat will start off lenient as everyone learns/settles in and become more tactical as you progress. I normally embrace the rule of cool, but within reason. Most likely I'll let you try anything once and hash out the rules/mechanics later.
Gameplay details
Session 0 is to help create characters and explain what players can expect in the upcoming adventure. After each session, I always ask how everyone is doing and try to make sure everyone had a good time. If there's ever any question, comment, or concern you may have, you're always welcome to message me privately. Towards the start of the campaign, when newer players are learning the ropes and everyone is settling into their characters, you can expect a largely lenient and forgiving experience. As the campaign progresses and the party seems more experienced (around 3rd level or so), I will start to play enemies more tactically and give less hints, forcing the group to work together more as the story progresses.

How will character creation work
Character creation will largely happen and be covered in Session 0 so that any newer players can have direct, hands-on help. Characters will start at level 1. For stats, you are welcome to roll, do point buy, or standard array. Characters will be created in DnD Beyond. I fully support and welcome homebrew! If you wish to play something not in my homebrew collection, I ask to review it first. I reserve the right to reject or edit any homebrew I don't already have, but most likely I'll allow it.
