Boston by Night | Eden's Bounty

Boston by Night | Eden's Bounty

Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition | Campaign

About the adventure

Welcome to the city known for revolution. The sight of the infamous Boston Tea Party and the 1770 Boston Massacre, both believe to be sparks that ignited the American appetite for revolution, what some would say a pivotal moment in US History. But perhaps, it was not just ordinary colonist that sparked it, but a group of kindered that wanted to see the city burn... Flash forward to the present, it is the year 2023. A lot has changed since those events and so has the power structure amongst the Vampires. No longer are the Anarchs the dominating populace, but the Camarilla and Prince Navalia O'Harren are now in charge, maintaining order and keeping the masquerade in check. Yet, in that order that is trying to be maintained mistakes happen, things get overlooked, and new threats awaken in the dark recesses of the night... Those moments that go unnoticed are when the masquerade can be breached and must be dealt with, which is where your story begins. In Boston By Night - Eden's Bounty, you're Coterie will be tasked by the Prince to seek out information on strange events that are occurring throughout The Fens. All you know is that college students are fainting on their way to classes and upon medical examination are missing multiple pints of blood with no visible injuries. A breach in the masquerade lingers and your tasks is finding the problem, eliminating it, or your deal with the Prince will be no more. Are you up for the task to hunt whomever, whatever is causing this or will you let it linger? It is important to remember that disobeying the decree of the Prince will lead to you becoming the ones who are hunted, and you all know how unforgiving the Prince's Sherrif, Arcandol, the Executioner can be...

How to prepare

You will need a working mic. A webcam is not needed, but if the group decides later on that they want to do video sessions we can explore it. Please sign up for Discord if you do not have an account already. That is how we will be communicating and doing voice during sessions. Please send me a friend request on Discord so I can add you to the server. My username is wholelottakylie After this you will need to to sign up for Alchemy. It is free to do so and is something I will get into more during Session 0. You can also expect something called, 'The Dossier of Holding,' which will include all the links you will need to get started. Here is the link to Alchemy: https://alchemyrpg.com/

What I provide

We will be utilizing Alchemy VTT for visuals, music, and immersion into the world of Boston By Night. For character sheets we will utilize Demiplane and that link will be sent to players upon being approved for the game in the Dossier of Holding where all the things you will need for the campaign will be located.

Gameplay details

If you have checked out my profile you may already know my play style, but here is a breakdown of what to expect: As your GM, I know how valuable everyone’s time is and that you are trusting me to deliver a memorable experience. I do not take that responsibility lightly. With that said, I want to share what you can expect when joining one of my campaigns: WHAT TO EXPECT - Every Session 0, for any of the campaigns I host, will ALWAYS be free. Everyone has expectations and what they hope to get out of a TTRPG campaign so Session 0 is a great way to make sure the campaign is a good fit for everyone. We all have play styles we enjoy so let's make sure this experience will work for all in the group. - A safe and inclusive space for everyone. I do not tolerate bullies or making others uncomfortable. We are here to have fun, tell stories, and escape from reality for a bit. Everyone deserves that opportunity and feels safe doing so. - Rules…yes, they are important, but if you can pitch me an idea that might bend the rules or it add some flavor to the narrative I am here for it! I am not here to be the rule police and ruin a fun/memorable moment because the rulebook said otherwise. So, if you have an idea or want to try something never be afraid to ask. I LOVE when players think outside the box and want to try unique things. It fills my GM heart with joy! With that said, this will be a more rules-lite campaign to enforce teenage shenanigans. - Just a little more on rules…If I miss a rule or screw something up, just shoot me a private message via Discord. While I have scoured the rule books I have not memorized EVERYTHING and am bound to make a mistake. I do not expect players to have everything memorized. If the rule in question is something we cannot figure out at the moment or it is taking too much time to research taking the party out of the game, I will decide on the spot and reconvene with the party before the next session for any clarification. Sometimes moments are circumstantial and will change from session to session, game to game. However, at the end of the day, my players and the story they are weaving is the most important thing to me. - A player-focused story. - Doing my homework. I know every GM has their method of approaching each session, but know that I spend time each week planning various elements of the story, weaving in character backstories, designing battle maps, soundscapes, world maps, etc. You are investing in me to deliver and know that behind the scenes I am planning to make sure I give you a world-class D&D experience to the best of my ability each week. - A survey to learn a little more about you as a player will be sent out prior to approval to join the campaign. It is simply meant to make sure we are a good firt for one another. - A consent form will be sent out. Please note the content warnings above as a baseline and things you can expect. If any of those are no goes please note that in your consent form and we can chat further on that to make sure you feel comfortable at the table. I am sure there are some things I am missing but those are some of the base expectations for what to expect in Session 0 and what you can expect from me as your GM. We will go into more details as we kick off the campaign. -GM Kylie Rose

How will character creation work

You can get started on creating your character before Session 0, but I encourage players to be open to making adjustments when we all sit down at the table for Session 0. With Vampire: The Masquerade having various RP and connection elements it is best to leave some flexibility so we can weave a story collaboratively with everyone at the table.
