About the adventure
🗺️ Traverse a massive world 🪶 Forge your own story 🎭 Shape your fate, for better or worse Welcome to Midgard, a world published by Kobold Press. it draws inspiration from Norse, Greek, Celtic and Egyptian mythologies. I’m looking to get a group of players together to tell a story that draws as much from the characters and players as it does the sourcebook. The world is vast and full of danger, not to mention the gods that walk the world without suspicion. This game is intended to be a long-term game starting from level 3 and going up into epic levels as the group progresses through their story. This game will be every week and will follow the stories of the main group of characters who attend Session 0. I’ll work with players to get everyone a story ready to be told, using The Session 0 System we’ll generate and flesh out backstories together so everyone will know who they’re playing with and what we’re all expecting from this game. I run this as an open world that reacts to what happens in it, in addition to the player characters there will be other forces at work depending on what we set up in the 0 session. The world will be growing along with the players. I enjoy a high fantasy game, and this world fits so well into that genre as well as being something that can be molded to whatever kind of game players want. There will be a Discord Server for those who play and a DnDBeyond campaign where I share my content. I will also have a few optional homebrew rules that the group can vote on using if they’d prefer.

About me
I've been running games for about 12 years at this point. I've always enjoyed making stories with my players and watching them explore their characters and the worlds we imagine. I try to lean more towards homebrew stories as I prefer to make something unique for each group, and it also allows multiple groups with the same players to have something new each time. I lean much more onto the narrative side of things, figuring out enemies' motivations as well as giving my players and their characters stories and choices that make sense for them. High fantasy is my preference for storytelling but I've been known to dabble in the steam/magic-punk side of things. I have tried a lot of different styles as I've ran and I find the most important thing for starting any game is a Session 0 to make sure everyone is on the same page and we all know what we want. I don't throw people into a game with no warning so I'm very open to new players and always willing to help people get themselves or their friends into the hobby!

Creating your character
We will make characters together during session 0, if new players join later I will work with them before their first session to get them caught up. We will use a "Heroic" Standard Array or a similar point buy to allow people to have ability scores that don't leave them wanting more. Everyone will get Maximum Hit Points at every level. The starting Level will be 3 at Session 0, then if new players join they will start at the same level as the current group. Due to everyone working together on background details and these details affecting your story, the "Background Features" from backgrounds (Such as the Entertainer's "By Popular Demand") will not be used. But all proficiencies and equipment from backgrounds may still be taken. We can also work together on custom backgrounds if everyone wants to.

What to expect
Preparing for the session
A microphone and headset will be needed (Headsets help avoid echo with mics) for voice chat on Discord. They will also need a Discord account and a Roll20 account. Being familiar with the rules and having an idea of what you might like to play is recommended but we can also go over that in Session 0 if players want to brainstorm together.
What Vex brings to the table
Roll20 as well as knowledge on how to use it. Access to my DnDBeyond content if people want it. I will also provide anything extra that I can within the realms of 3rd party PDFs, maps, and even tokens. I do like to make tokens for my players to let them represent their characters how they imagine them. I also use a Music bot in the Discord to help with ambiance. I personally make custom stories for every group I run for, depending on what people want and what story they would like to tell.
Homebrew rules
Max HP, Heroic Array of Stats (10, 12, 14, 14, 16, 18), Max Critical Damage then roll the extra dice, Potions use an action for max healing or bonus action for rolled healing.

How Vex creates a safe table
The XNO cards will be a module used in Roll20 which will also have an Anonymous option to use them. Session 0 as well as occasional check-ins with the group will be used to set a baseline for how everyone feels and where they want the game to go. Lines and Veils will be established at Session 0 but you may always alter them if something changes. Lines will NEVER be brought up and Veils will have a fade to black or 'happens off stage' use. Stars and Wishes are welcome every session, anyone may send me a Star- something they liked, and a Wish- something they hope to see in future sessions. We can also use the Anonymous feature in Roll20 for this if people prefer.
