😈 Baldur's Gate: Dead Three Rising 😈(LEVEL 8 CURRENTLY!)
Uncover the mystery of the disappearance of the Dead Three as they vie for your attention in a plot to achieve ultimate resurrection.
About the adventure
The world has become an incredibly unsettling place for the denizens of the Sword Coast - after a cult almost unleashed a terrifying dragon goddess from hell and the ensuing shattering of the Ordning, people are afraid. The giants, in their rage, trampled many a metropolis before being stopped by wayward adventurers in their quest for peace. The peace was, of course, achieved, but the deafening silence of a power vacuum is not comforting and the people know better than to rest on their laurels, safe in some vapid knowledge that the danger has passed. Once again, evil has risen - more nefarious than ever before. Tensions have been escalating in the north and the south of the Sword Coast. In the north, Neverwinter is preparing for war with Luskan, their historical bad blood being brought to bare again whereas, in the south, Baldur's Gate and Elturel are close to coming to blows over control of the Chiontar River. It is here that your adventure starts. Elturel is an advantageous position, as Baldur's Gate is busy looking not only at external problems, but internal ones. There has been a string of murders plaguing the city, the marks of the Dead Three showing proudly in the victims bodies, leaving no doubt that Bhaal, God of Murder; Myrkul, The Dead Lord of Bones and Bane, The Black Hand are behind these atrocities. Concerns flare at the rising of these once destroyed Gods, their following increasing with each life taken. The Flaming Fist, proud militant servers of Baldur's Gate have exhausted all their resources in pursuing a solution, each time coming back empty-handed. Military rule has thus come to Baldur's Gate, and the people now do find it difficult to distinguish their protectors from their oppressors, the Flaming Fist becoming ever more desperate in their measures to stop what has been dubbed the Cult of the Dead Three. You are prisoners. Some of you have been here for years, others not so, being thrown in the gallows under dubious legal grounds. Whether or not your crimes are legitimate, you are here now, chosen to rot amongst the rats and the mold-infested walls. Spending your days in squalid conditions, your will to live deteriorates, it's decline aided and abetted by malnutrition and mistreatment from the Flaming Fist guards. Until, one day, you are called - requisitioned, conscripted, forced to act. On the rising sun of Kythorn 20, the Summer Solstice, you are given to Captain Zodge, who presents to you a deal that you cannot refuse. 'You are hereby commanded to assist the Flaming Fist in the ongoing investigatory proceedings aimed at quashing the Cult of the Dead Three. Do this, and you shall be adequately rewarded with your lives. Should you refuse, we shall have no choice but to legally execute you by the eve of the Solstice for your crimes.'

About me
Howdys and Salutations! I've been playing D&D since the death throes of 3.5, skipped 4th entirely after a break and settled right nicely in the DM chair for 5e ever since Tyranny of Dragons dropped. I've ran and finished multiple online and in-person campaigns, often ending around tier 3 play (level 14). To get a good picture of what my games look like, imagine fun as a core concept — that's me! All I do is in the name of the collective fun for the whole table. I view TTRPGS in essence as an exercise to break out from constrained systems to do ridiculous stuff like, oh, I dunno, befriending the green dragon in Thundertree through carefully and tactfully putting the cursed helm of opposite alignment on it — he became a real softie after that! One rule I always abide by - mistakes, of any kind, are an opportunity to be creative and to do something fun and often hilarious. You regret your frail level 1 PC ran confidently into a pack of goblins, rolling poorly on that persuasion check? No problem. This does not mean death. Well, not necessarily anyway. It might, but it might also be another opportunity to pitch them that lucrative moonshine business you've been going on and on about lately. I wouldn't blame you, it's a neat idea. Anyways, happy to share the wonders of RPGs with you and create lasting memories that'll hopefully be sung about for years to come. Toodly-Doodly! (It's 'see you soon' in goblin, I promise.)

Tom is enthusiastic and full of great ideas. I was both intrigued at the story set up and laughing at the interactions we had! Tom has a great set of house rules that are minor tweaks to the typical 5e ruleset, but they are amazing and truly make the game flow better. With that being said, he also isn't dead set against shutting down an idea you have about something and is more than willing to bend his own rules to assist the player in getting the experience they want. He is very knowledgeable about the rules and was fantastic at helping a few of our newer players get into the game. None of my group had ever used Foundry VTT and he ran a tutorial on that program before we started. It was thorough but not over the top and boring. He is clearly very experienced and has worked out the kinks when it comes to DMing. I would highly recommend using Tom! - PS Hope that you are in a setting that allows him to do some bard stuff...WOW is all I have to say!!!
Character creation
Creating your character
Each player will start at level 1 and characters will be created in D&D Beyond wherever possible. This is the one and only time D&D Beyond will be used however, as the game takes place in Foundry VTT entirely after that. I will set up an individual time for each player to have a session 0 with me to make sure we get to playing ASAP!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need access to competent internet (nothing too fancy!). You will also need access to Discord and a microphone to express yourself within voice chat. Of course, willingness to play, explore and be kind to others is also a must :)!
What Tomas B brings to the table
I will bring the most terrifying creatures known to this world onto our virtual table! This is an all-inclusive experience we're talking about - everything from your character tokens, sheets to the maps and the silly voices I do indeed provide!

How Tomas B creates a safe table
Players here can expect a gritty fantastical take on an adventure that delves into the darker sides of D&D - you are trying to stop ravenous murderers after all! Regardless, this does not mean the campaign is meant to be an oppressive experience - there are many opportunities for levity within it and humor. Fun is the most sought after aspect of play and I subscribe to the idea that immersion in this case is not only reliant on representing the miserable condition our characters find themselves in, but also in making sure that we get the opportunity to express ourselves in the best way possible while playing! This adventure is aimed at any level of experience :)! If you want your first foray into D&D to be a gritty one, this is the place! Veterans will find incredibly challenging combat encounters throughout the many different locations in the game. Exploration awareness, preparedness and good strategy are a must have here, especially after level 3! Speaking of levels, this campaign goes from 1 to 20, going through all the different tiers of play. You won't be in Baldur's Gate forever - more sinister challenges await... further down the line.
