About the adventure
Welcome to the continent of Sahul. In the distant future, this land will be known as Australia. But today, in this imaginative fantasy prehistory, we will join a community of semi-nomadic people, living in this vast, beautiful, and dangerous continent. People with deep knowledge of the bush, mastery over firestick farming, armed with the woomera and the boomerang, and their rich cultural tapestry of the Dreaming. Hi there, I'm Ani a.k.a. Anistuffs. I'm looking to start up a Monster of the Week campaign set in a prehistoric fantasy version of Australia. The game will be using the Bone Spear campaign setting from the new supplement book Codex of Worlds. The player characters will be members of the same community, and over the course of the campaign, we will develop the community and the world and how it all interacts with the ever-present involvement of the Dreaming.
No previous knowledge or experience is required for either Monster of the Week or the myths and history of Australia. The game will start when there’s a minimum of 3 players. Character creation will be done in Session 0 with the whole group.

How to prepare
This is a roleplaying game focused on collaborative storytelling, played using Discord for voice (and optional video) and Roll20 for rolls. So players will need: 💻 A computer capable of running web-based programs 🌐 Decent internet access, ideally using common browsers (Firefox/Chrome/Edge) 🎤 Decent microphone. Webcams are encouraged but optional. 🎧 Discord account (free) 🎲 Roll20 account (free) 🤩 Enthusiasm for the game. 🤝 Friendliness, open mind, creative imagination, open communication, to create a friendly and welcoming gaming group. ⏰ Punctuality about attending the sessions. 👍 Reliability to inform in case of delay/absence. 📝Having a way to take notes would be helpful, though not strictly necessary. Note: I will be recording the session audio for collecting feedback and note-taking. This will be purely private, but if you have any concerns, please contact me. By applying to the game, you consent to being recorded. Thank you.
What I provide
1. A Discord server 2. A Roll20 game 3. Monster of the Week resources, as required ▶ The campaign will be Theatre of the Mind assisted by reference images to set the scene and mood. ▶ My goal is to provide a living, dynamic, and consistent world/setting that both responds to the Player Characters' actions and also continues existing without their interaction. ▶ My passion for creating a collaborative and memorable story with the whole group.
Gameplay details
After a player signs up, I will reach out to them to have a one to one onboarding session. In Session 0, we will discuss the game expectations, safety tools used and content warnings as a whole group. Once we are all on the same page, we will do character creation. I regularly check in with my players to ensure everyone is safe and enjoying the game.

How will character creation work
We will create characters together during Session 0 and establish inter-character relationships and connections with the campaign setting. As this is a campaign set in a very specific setting, a fantastic prehistoric Australia, I will help players create characters that fit.
