About the adventure
https://downloads.paizo.com/TriumphOfTheTusk_PlayersGuide.pdf <- Player's Guide for over information! In this adventure, our crew will represent one or several stakeholders in the Torrentmoot, a traditional Orcish political gathering. This year, the Torrentmoot serves a new political function as Ardax the White-hair, leader of Belkzen, opens up the function to nearby neighbors to discuss the future of the Orcish nation. The orcs of Belkzen are descended in large part from the hordes dominated by the archlich Tar-Baphon centuries past; in more recent history, Belkzen has risen up in rage against the recently resurrected necromancer, banding with the Knights of Lastwall to stymy Tar-Baphon's attempt to create a new empire of the dead. Since this has yet to release, I have only a broad notion of what's in store, but we do know this book has to do with the consequences of the Godsrain. We're likely to see a lot of undead foes and some political intrigue!

About me
I'm Ryan and I love running Pathfinder 2e! I came on over from DnD 5th edition and have been running 1 to 4 games a week for about 4 years now. My style tends towards cinematic, fast-paced combat with a lot of humor. I love doing ridiculous voices for my NPCs and letting players get away "rule of cool" shenanigans. I've got an active Discord community posting about Pathfinder, video games and the like. Come on by and join a table! All tables are of course queer-friendly and we have a friendly Discord community for folks trying to wrap their heads around Pathfinder 2e.

Creating your character
Characters are 3rd level. I have yet to decide whether to run with Free Archetype for this campaign (will have to wait until I see the books) but generally you will get *something* a little extra cool. The Player's Guide (https://downloads.paizo.com/TriumphOfTheTusk_PlayersGuide.pdf) gives some guidance for character creation; note both new classes from War of the Immortals, Animist and Exemplar are recommended classes. Character creation can be done on pathbuilder or in-server--you should have a pretty good idea of who you're playing pre-session 0.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Definitely need a solid microphone in a quiet room. I don't generally play with webcam but am not opposed to it. You will need to be basically familiar with the PF2e rules, but of course our players will chat in-server to figure out characters and the like. You do need a Foundry Forge account (it's free!) and a decent video card to run the game on the browser-based Foundry Forge.
What Ryan brings to the table
Fully moduled-up Foundry Virtual Tabletop persistent server (so if you need to go in to edit your character or review your notes, you can do that--no need to wait for me to spin up a server). Musicbot to play incidental music, battle music from video game and cinema sources. An honest attempt at distinct characters and voices. Just a real willingness to hit my players in the feels at low moments in a way that I think is memorable rather than disheartening (my players agree I promise!). Quick, tactical combat along with the flexibility to make improvised actions based on expert guidance (notably Seifter's "It doesn't have to be a feat to let you do it, just because there is a feat for it doesn't mean you can't do it without). A friendly and quite active Discord server chatting about new developments in PF2e/SF2e (it's all I run), builds, spells, etc
Homebrew rules
I have a big list of homebrew on my Discord server around a few QoL boosts, and I do use Keeley's Hero Point rule (if you reroll into a 1-10, add 10 to the result).

How Ryan creates a safe table
X-cards are always installed into the Foundry interface. Clicking the button on your token menu will pop up an anonymous X card that signals to the GM and other players that it is time to stop this course of action and move on to the next scene. Notably, I have never had anyone hit the X-card in one of my games (other than by accident) though it has been there since very early on. Session 0 will be done mostly to check character completion and run through existing in-character relationships; I expect a lot of backstory creation and the like to be done outside of game time and likely well ahead of time!
