About the adventure
The dreams of the RED WIZARDS have driven many Thayan zulkirs and their minions to their doom - perished carrying out the will of Thay’s regent, archlich SZASS TAM. These losses have done nothing to deter the lich’s vision. Now, Szass Tam looks to promote younger, loyal Red Wizards and Thayan operatives into these vacant positions. Their purpose: to slowly foment Thayan influence across Faerûn. This is an Adventurers League campaign following the Dreams of the Red Wizards adventure path. Each session will cover one module, going all the way from level 1-20, in a beginner friendly environment. Each session will be packed with immersive roleplay, tactical combat and a whole lot of fun. The campaign follows the latest Adventurers League rules using the 2024 updates to 5e.

About me
Maybe it was watching The Return of the King, getting hooked on Game of Thrones, flipping through an Iron Man comic, or diving into Bleach manga. Or perhaps it was that one epic history lesson from a cool teacher. Whatever it was, we’ve all had that moment of thinking, “What if I were part of the action, shaping the story?” Well, I’d love to help you explore that feeling through a game of Dungeons & Dragons. Since I was a kid, I’ve been captivated by fantastical stories. When I discovered what it meant to be a Dungeon Master, it became a dream of mine to weave stories with friends, building worlds together in a shared narrative adventure. And ever since I started DM’ing I have loved every second of it. Now, I’m no Brandon Sanderson or Tolkien — but I do believe that together, through immersive roleplaying and the delightful unpredictability of dice rolls, we can create unforgettable moments. My goal is to help you discover your character, your story, and build it with a party of fellow adventurers. So, let’s roll some dice and create something amazing together! ¡Ah! ¡Y también roleamos en Español!

Creating your character
The Character Creation process will take place over D&D Beyond. This to ensure access to all the sources I provide and to allow for players to keep control of their character sheets at all times. Characters will be imported from D&D Beyond into Foundry prior to each session. Characters must comply with the rules of D&D Adventurers League for the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. These can be found at https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/ddal/reference-docs/03-2024/d&d-adventurers-league-player%27s-guide-v14.0.pdf One such rule is character level. You can either bring in an existing DDAL character of the appropiate Tier or create a Level 1 character for our Tier 1 games or Level 5 once we reach Tier 2. For Tier 3 you must either bring an existing DDAL character or create a Level 5 character, complete a single Tier 2 adventure and take advantage of Catch Up Downtime rules to advance into Tier 3. For Tier 4 you must bring an existing character. The DM will always provide pre-made characters for new players that want to jump right into the action.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Characters should be created in the D&D Beyond campaign at least one hour prior to the session. This will ensure they can be properly imported into Foundry. Players should always incorporate an avatar image to their character sheet. Characters must comply with DDAL rules as delineated in https://media.dndbeyond.com/compendium-images/ddal/reference-docs/03-2024/d&d-adventurers-league-player%27s-guide-v14.0.pdf All players are required to have a working microphone as the session will be held over Discord Voice Chat. If the player has triggers they want to be taken into consideration during the session these should be disclosed to the DM ahead of time. No need for explanations as to why cat pictures are triggering for you Jim, but in order to offer a safe and fun space for everyone give the DM time to prep accordingly. When joining the Discord Server all players must agree with the Server Rules or won't be able to join the Voice Chat. These rules are: 1. Respect is Non-Negotiable No discrimination, harassment, or targeting based on race, gender, beliefs, or identity. Everyone deserves to feel safe and valued. Repeated disrespect will lead to permanent bans. 2. Respect the Schedule Sessions are planned ahead. Miss the 24-hour notice? No refunds, and three strikes means a ban. DM cancels? They’ll make it up to you in the form of reimbursement or a make up session (up to you). 3. The DM’s Word is Law While feedback on rules is welcome, the DM has the final say on rulings. Trust the process, even if it's not strictly "by the book." 4. Stay Engaged Pay attention, plan ahead, and act promptly. Combat and role-play run smoother when you’re focused—no scrolling Instagram mid-session! 5. We’re All Heroes Here No one player is the star. This is a collective story, and everyone gets their moment to shine. Shenanigans are great, but not at the expense of others’ fun. 6. Communicate Effectively Respect the flow. Don’t interrupt players or the DM. Ask politely if you need to chime in. Got a gripe? Message the DM privately. No need for real-life drama during game time. 7. Rule of Cool Over Rules Creativity rules! Don’t just play stats—if it sounds awesome, ask the DM. You might hear the golden words: "I'll allow it!" Sometimes the DM rolls for answers. When that happens, we honor the wisdom of the dice. 8. PG-13, Please Sex is implied but never detailed. F-bombs? Limited. Keep the game fun for everyone. 9. Don’t Jump the Gun No premature rolling! Let the DM guide when rolls are needed, because not everything needs a Nat 20. 10. Politics Stay Out No real-life politics or religion at the table. In-game debates? Sure, just keep it fictional!
What Miguel - Bardic Inspiration brings to the table
The game will be held over a Foundry VTT instance that has been customized with automation and animations and effects to provide an experience that looks and feels polished. The DM utilizes custom made maps using assets from professional map makers such as 2-Minute Tabletop and Forgotten Adventures, making for visually engaging and stunning scenery. These are further elevated by the use of active tiles in Foundry VTT in order to provide an interactive and engaging experience. Participants will receive instant access to my catalogue of D&D Beyond resources which include the 2024 Core Rulebooks (as they release) as well as a growing collection of expanded rules which at the moment include TCoE, XGtoE, MotM, FToD, VRGtR, ERftLW and others. Our sessions include ambient music, the DM does voices and uses custom tokens to make obvious who is talking, and we embrace the beauty of tactical combat. As a DDAL campaign the sessions will be 90% RAW but always giving ourselves the benefit of embracing Rule of Cool when merited in order to foster player creativity and ingenuity; explain to me your awesome idea and we might bend the rules a bit to make sure the session is memorable.

How Miguel - Bardic Inspiration creates a safe table
Conversations will be held with the players as to trigger topics. Rules are delineated as to what the DM won't allow in the session including but not limited to harassment or targetting based on race, gender, beliefs or identity and overtly graphic sex; these basic rules and others are part of the Discord Server and failure to accept to comply with these result in the player not having access to the voice chat and thus preventing participation. For X, N & O the players are advised to send the DM private messages through Discord as the session is going when things are getting into dangerous territory.
