What I provide

All the game resources you'll need on Fantasy Grounds including some you may not have seen before. A massive trove of maps, creatures, encounters and ideas so I can be ready when you go someplace unexpected.

Gameplay details

Midgard is a grim and perilous world, and there is evil in it. Cruelty, prejudice, crime, greed and fear are part of life in Midgard, which is why we need heroes to push back against the tide. That said, my table is welcoming to all genders, races, identities, orientations and abilities. Be kind and respectful. Bigots and creeps get booted, no refund, no second chance. The first chapter in particular draws the heroes in to protect victims of racial violence. Successful resolution of that chapter reveals a sinister hand stirring up racial resentment and prejudice for its own gain, and brings some redemption, reform and healing without papering over the problem of racism as solvable by beating up a few bad guys. I have other games for all ages, but due to the body horror of dealing with cannibalistic ghouls and vampires, this game is not appropriate for children.

How will character creation work

I'll have a dozen or so prebuilt characters using races and options from the Midgard setting available for play. If you join on the day of the game, these are your only option, at least for that week. You can also make characters on my Fantasy Grounds table by appointment in advance, or tell me your idea and I'll make it for you. Because character creation in Tales of the Valiant is different than it is in Dungeons & Dragons, making characters on D&D Beyond is not possible; we'll make them directly in Fantasy Grounds. Midgard has many unique lineages, heritages, backgrounds and options, and it specifically doesn't have a few species common in other worlds. Some races such as elves, half elves, gnomes and drow have quite different societies or status than commonly expected. To best experience and fit into this world, discuss your character ideas with me before building one.
