About the adventure
Grab your laser guns, magic spells, and your hero's courage for the Iron Gods adventure path, a science fantasy adventure for levels 1-17 using Pathfinder 1st edition! Beginners, neurodivergent folks, and LGBTQIA2S+ folks welcome! The light of Torch has gone out, literally! A dozen mercenaries and adventurers have already been lost, and now a town council member is missing! You and your companions are the latest to offer to investigate the mysteries under Black Hill, and why the Torch has gone out. Surely the explanation is simple...? You will begin as a humble adventurer/scholar//traveler/Torch local who's unique talents and dungeoneering mettle pull you into a plot involving strange technology, creatures from beyond the stars, new rising gods, and the humble Numerians caught in between it all. You may be the only thing that stands between Golarion's safety and brain-collecting aliens, ghost wizards, half-built androids, and killer robots (to name a few)! The danger, and your rewards, are truly divine. The adventure itself has a strong focus on exploration and combat, with social encounters included for specific moments. The GM will be including plenty of roleplay to make the world feel alive and reactive to your actions. The adventure will play on the humor and wonder of folks from a fantasy setting coming across objects and devices that Earthlings would find more mundane, and the wonder almost anyone would feel at things like advanced AI, gigantic combat robots, nanotechnology, laser weapons, and aliens. All of this high tech mingles with the fantasy elements, producing unique combinations you could only find in a science fantasy adventure! This campaign will react to you and your allies, with custom plot-lines and additional side-quests available. We will run the gamut from serious to comedic, taking the time players want to portray their heroes through improv and a few game rules. We will play the adventure mostly as written, making changes for safety or to reflect the actions of the heroes.
We play every other Tuesday at 6 PM EDT on Discord's Roll20 app.

How to prepare
-Connect a microphone to your computer or use one built into your machine. -Unless your microphone has excellent noise reduction or you are on push-to-talk, please wear headphones or a headset to reduce feedback from voices, music, and sound effects. -Download and install Discord and join the private Discord server for this game (you will receive an invite once you are part of the game). -You can learn the rules as you go, but any time spent reading up on Pathfinder 1e rules will give you a better time overall! -Consult the Iron Gods Player's Guide to help yourself and your companions integrate your heroes into the world to maximize your immersion and your hero's personal stakes. Not required reading, but as above you will likely have a better time if you do! -Understand the social contract: we are all here to have a fun time. If your fun is hurting someone else's fun we can try to find a compromise, but your fun should never come at the expense of anyone at the table (GM included). This is a safe and welcoming space for marginalized people. Be kind, be patient, act in good faith, and we'll have a great time!

Gameplay details
First: the GM gets very into running the game during a session, and may not immediately notice that a safety tool has been employed. If They are not noticing that you have invoked one of the tools you have their permission to ask them in the text chat or voice chat to double check their messages. We will begin the campaign with a free session 0, where we can discuss what kind of game we want to have, what we find unacceptable in our gaming experiences, and what kinds of relationships we want our characters to have with each other and the people of Golarion. The Roll20 table will have virtual cards that can be played on the game's map, indicating that someone wants to slow down, stop, or keep going with the scene. I will never ask why you played a card, and other players must respect someone's choice to use one of the cards. We will continue with the game as needed, making changes as necessary. Since we will be using Discord, feel free to send the GM a private message if you want to discuss something privately. While running a game I may miss the message initially, so if I am not noticing that I have received a message please poke me a few times in Discord. If I am just not getting it, please let me know I have a message in Discord, and I will check it right away. Ideally, we will take breaks at the two-hour mark! If someone needs to step away from the game feel free to announce it in the text chat or out loud as you feel comfortable, and we can take a 10-15 minute break to get water and take bio breaks. As above, if I am not noticing while I am running the game don't feel bad about poking me or calling my attention to the text chat or my private messages. Finally, if something comes up that you were not expecting would affect you as it does, don't hesitate to call for a break or send the GM a message. The game is supposed to be fun and exciting, not harrowing for the real people playing it. If something hits you in a way you did not expect, you have the GM's permission to poke or call to them as needed to get the safety you need. Pester them, they will understand!
