CHAINS OF ASMODEUS (Level 10 - 20) | Nine Hells Campaign

CHAINS OF ASMODEUS (Level 10 - 20) | Nine Hells Campaign

Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign

About the adventure

The Nine Hells, that eternal pit of misery and torment, has claimed someone you love. Warned by divine favor or by a hellish insider, you have been given an opportunity to take them back to the land of the living and claim your vengeance on those who put them there. It very well may be a suicide mission - not many leave the hell unshackled. The things we do for those we love. To make it out alive, you're going to need some luck, friends, and a lot of guts. Hack and slash your way through armies of devils, traverse each of the nine layers of the Hells as you seek out the souls of your loved ones, and perhaps even face off against an archdevil or two along the way. Inspired by the poetry of Dante and the mayhem of DOOM, Chains of Asmodeus is as heartfelt as it is bloody. But remember: the road to hell was paved with good intentions...

Game style

Theater of the Mind

“Theater of the Mind” uses little to no visuals for scene settings and combat. Instead, the narrative imagery comes from the Game Master’s descriptions and character action and movement comes from Players’ descriptions.

From tonight: "We spent 20 dollars, found a tower, ate beans, fished a dude bro worm out of a river and made a friend. 10/10 would bean again." - Chains of Asmodeus game. Honestly, I play with a shit ton of DMs but this guy is insanely good and serious when he needs to be and is VERY good his job but the insanity factor when it's needed is ridiculous. We all stayed and laughed after this particular session for about an hour. Immersive and well voice and physically acted out characters but....D&D is D&D and sometimes you spend a whole session taking a short rest, fishing a lemure with a daddy complex out of the river Styx, and your npc priest decides to be obsessed with a can of beans. 110/10 best DM ever, 100% commits to the bit, and is pure yes and in the improv. I don't think I've ever had more fun.

I am a mid john wick and I just spent 20 dollars to, find a tower, eat beans, fished a worm out of a river and made a friend with said worm. Learned my new friend had a grind set and started making Grindr. I can die happy.

Tyson is a great DM! He makes games fun and interesting, and does a great job of incorporating your character into the world he has built. He does some pretty awesome voices, and gives you some moments to do some epic and exciting things with your characters! He's not afraid of things getting silly on occasion, but does a great job of pulling things back to serious moments and knows how to pull on the heartstrings! A+ DM. 100% Recommend.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say Ty is the best GM ever to the point where I can't even think about being in a game where someone else is the GM. Ty paints the worlds like a picture you can easily see in your mind, and is incredibly engaging. They use different fun voices and they are very patient with beginner players. One of my favorite things about Ty is that they are mindful of self-care for their players after incidents happen in game (ie character death). I'm a little quiet but Ty's games have made me want to role play in a way no other GM has, so I highly recommend them.

I just need to add my own voice to the echoes of those singing Ty's praises. Ty has that critical ability to seamlessly weave individual character's ideas and motivations into a campaign while also dealing with the mercurial mood of a large party's chaotic whims and leaves every adventure feeling as though it was tailored specifically to make you feel good. They are always down to pivot on your character development or talk through things your character is feeling and yet they always seem to keep the story moving. I cannot recommend them any higher for both new or experienced players.
