About the adventure

In a world teetering on the edge of infernal conquest, the dark power of Asmodeus threatens to consume all. His chains stretch from the deepest layers of the Nine Hells to the mortal plane, binding the souls of those who dare to defy him. As the machinations of the Lord of the Nine tighten their grip, a select few are called to break these chains—or serve as their bearers. The question remains: Will you fight against the overwhelming might of Asmodeus, or will you succumb to the allure of his promises? Chains of Asmodeus is set in a world where demonic bargains, devilish politics, and moral choices shape every turn. Your party will be thrust into a web of intrigue, navigating through treacherous infernal contracts, dark alliances, and the looming shadow of the most powerful devil in existence. Each decision could tilt the balance of power between life and enslavement, light and eternal darkness. This campaign is designed for players who enjoy deep roleplay, tactical combat, and making choices with far-reaching consequences. You will face infernal creatures, uncover ancient secrets, and test your loyalty in ways you never expected. Whether you are a seasoned adventurer or new to the game, Chains of Asmodeus offers a thrilling journey into a world where power always comes at a price.

How to prepare

Players will need a working computer, a roll20 subscription, a mic, and a headset. D&D beyond is optional.

What I provide

- I have content sharing for D&D Beyond and Roll20, with most of the rules and character creation content books purchased. - I consider the rules to be a guideline, but I aim for consistency. Most of my homebrew rules are written down on my Discord server. If you're interested in only playing rules as written then this game won't be for you. - D&D 5e (or 5.5) is not a well-balanced combat system. Expect some encounters to be too easy and others to be too hard. I'm a big believer in: "there's always an alternative to combat." Murder-hobos, you've been warned. - I'm not great at character voices, I try my best, but I'm not great. I try to focus more on visuals and world-building. I spend a lot of time building maps and character tokens and writing backstories.

Gameplay details

I find session 0's to be very important. We will go over your characters, their motivations, who they are, their backstory, etc. Part of the appeal of TTRPGs versus video games is that the world responds differently to your character. You can expect that I will test your character's principles in a variety of ways.
