About the adventure

The Witch is Dead is a light-hearted but chaotic one-shot full of magic, murder, and revenge. This adventure is perfect for new players looking for a short, fun, and hilarious introduction to tabletop role-playing games. The Witch is Dead is a unique experience each time you play, thanks to its randomized elements, so even if you’ve played before, no two sessions will be exactly alike. It’s a great way to dip your toes into TTRPGs without needing to know complex rules—just bring your creativity, and we’ll figure out the rest together! Once upon a time, there was a kind witch who lived in the woods, tending to her animals and keeping to herself. But one day, a Witch Hunter came along and did the unthinkable—he killed her. Now, it's up to you, her loyal animal companions, to avenge her death and bring the Witch Hunter to justice. Armed with your meager magic and a whole lot of determination, you'll use your wits and teamwork to pull off the perfect murder... or die trying! In this game, you’ll play as small woodland animals like owls, rabbits, and even squirrels. You might not be the most fearsome creatures, but with magic, mischief, and clever thinking, you’ll plot your revenge against the powerful Witch Hunter. Will your plan succeed, or will chaos reign? Expect a fast-paced, low-pressure adventure full of laughs, surprises, and lots of opportunities for improvisation. Whether you’re completely new to TTRPGs or just want a quick, quirky one-shot, The Witch is Dead offers an unforgettable, repeatable experience.

About me

Hi, I'm Jack! I was introduced to TTRPGs through the Dungeons and Daddies (Not a BDSM Podcast), and I haven’t looked back since. After "Scam Likely" had me nearly rolling on the floor laughing, I knew I needed more. I dove into the Glass Cannon Network and eventually started GMing one-shots for friends. Being a GM just clicked for me—it’s incredible to build a dynamic, living world with players, where everyone helps to create something truly unique. 🎙️ Huge fan of the Dungeons & Daddies podcast (not that kind of daddies). 🛡️ Pathfinder 2e and Delta Green GM. 📚 Lover of deep, immersive storytelling. What I bring to the table: 🎭 Immersive Storytelling: I’m all about creating rich, sensory-driven scenes. Expect to hear me describe the smell of a distant campfire, the chill of a dark cavern, or the distant hum of strange machinery. But I also encourage players to contribute and make the world come alive together. 📑 Strong Preparation: I think game prep is the key to a fruitful and enjoyable adventure. That being said, I love improvising to meet my players where they are! 🤝 A Supportive Environment: I personally understand mental health struggles, and I am here to make sure everyone at the table feels safe and supported. This is a judgment-free, welcoming space, and I don’t tolerate any kind of harmful behavior. ⚔️ Flexible Playstyle: I’m open to bending the rules when it enhances role-play or allows for a creative solution, because at the end of the day, we’re here to have fun. Most of my experience has been in running one-shots and Pathfinder 2e, but I’ve also led a party through parts of Quest for the Frozen Flame. Whether you’re looking for a thrilling short adventure or something deeper, I’m excited to create memorable moments with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation is handled by d10 rolls. One d10 roll for animal species, one d10 for magic spell. Players can re-roll one of their two d10's if they want to.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players will need: 1) a stable internet connection 2) a microphone 3) a camera 4) a discord account 5) access to discord by desktop, mobile, or browser Although this one-shot can be played without any preparation, it could be helpful for players to pre-read the one-page description of the game mechanics.

What Jack brings to the table

This game will use custom maps and screensharing to give players an overview of the setting. I intend to give the players a large degree of freedom in how they approach the adventure. That's part of the fun!

Safety

How Jack creates a safe table

Players will be woodland animals and will need to approach tasks that would normally be straightforward in small chunks. This can lead to very detailed descriptions of violence in some cases. Video will be done by Discord, and the players will be able to individually message me with X, N, and O cards if they are uncomfortable sharing those with the entire group.
