Meet the Game Master
About me
Welcome Everyone!! 🥳 (POC and 🏳️🌈LGBTQIA+ safe space) I'm Adam, performer, writer, improv teacher, and your new Game Master. 10 years ago, I was just another nerdy theatre kid trying to figure out life when one day I tripped headfirst into the quicksand that is D&D. I sank willingly because it changed and enriched my social, creative, and performative lives. And in my pursuit of more I found other TTRPG’s (Call of Cthulhu, FFG Star Wars, Kids on Bikes, Delta Green, etc), which led to streaming (Youtube, Podcasts, and Twitch), and then to Libraries, where I run in-person D&D programs for Adults and Teens. Outside of TTRPGs I enjoy exercising🏋️, movies/tv-shows (currently: TaskMaster and One Piece)🎥, video games (currently: Space Marine 2)🕹️, reading (currently: Guards Guards)📚, podcasts (currently: hey riddle riddle)🎙️, and watching whatever’s new on Dropout.tv. Fun fact: I have performed in 4 countries outside of the United States. Things I nerd out about: - LOTR movies - Star Wars - One Piece (anime) - Mass Effect (video game) - Warhammer 40k lore - And SO MUCH MORE!!

Pure fun and great energy! Adam facilitates such a thoughtful and collaborative table. He expertly gives new players the support they need to get started while giving plenty of space for more experienced players. I've been impressed by his incorporation of character backstory, engaging storylines, top-notch voices, and the charisma he brings to the table. A huge bonus for new players is the accessibility he brings to learning D&D 5e through color-coded, straightforward guides. Even as a player with some experience under my belt, it has been super helpful to remember the options available to me and even helped me understand mechanics for a class I hadn't played before. Adam is great. I can't recommend him enough. Now, go forth and play well, fellow adventurer!
You know those videos that list qualities that make a good GM and they can be a mile long? There are MANY reasons why you would be lucky to have Adam as your GM. I’ll narrow it down to the top 3. 1. Player Engagement - this guy has a pulse on pacing, involving players for world building decisions, and narrowing in on each player’s motivation. He gives everyone the spotlight and encourages creativity in their choices. 2. NPC Depth: there are many characters to keep straight in a campaign and Adam makes them all unique and memorable. It honestly boggles my mind on how many accents and voices he can convey. 3. Pacing PACING P.A.C.I.N.G: There are so many moving elements in a campaign and everything has flowed naturally at the table with Adam as a GM. He knows when to shift focus and keeps different game mechanics balanced through sessions. Like a stew, he throws in a dash of flashbacks here, a couple handfuls of endearing NPCs interactions there, a chunk of combat intermittently, a sprinkle of TPL (Total Party Laughter) throughout, and finishes it off with some world exploration. He makes a good story soup. If you get the chance, grab a bowl. Lastly, no matter your experience level, this GM makes you feel safe and respected at the table.
Adam is a terrific GM! I've been incredibly lucky to sit at Adam's tables a bunch of times, and will always say yes to opportunities to play with him again. Adam is a kind and thoughtful person who brings a TON of passion and heart to the games he runs. He brings NPCs to life with skillful (and often hilarious) voice acting, he is attentive to his players and the stories they want to tell, and he does a wonderful job weaving narratives together in deeply compelling ways. He is also very patient with new players, and eager to spread his love for storytelling. If you are a new player looking for a chance to learn a new system AND practice roleplaying at a safe and silly table, or if you are an old player wanting to buckle down and really explore a character, Adam is a wonderful GM to make that experience happen. ❤
I've played with incredibly talented GMs for years, but Adam is the real standout. His stories, plots, and worlds are unique, but he also builds them through collaboration with his players. Adam's tables are the safest I have experienced and I always feel supported both at the table and away from it. He's got the acting chops of Critical Role and the compassion and humor of Brennan Lee Mulligan. I can't suggest Adam enough. You won't be disappointed!

What Adam brings to the table
📚Before Session 1, For beginners or folk who'd like to learn the basics, I will send a simplified character creator pdf. After i receive your 4 choices I will send a simplified color-coded character sheet for each level as you progress. We start every game session by joining the zoom call and turning on our microphones and cameras (required). 🗣️Every game after session 1 we will begin with a few improv warm-up games as a group, and an in-character recap (players role play as their PC's and talk about the last episode). This transition helps everyone move from their busy week into a state of play. 🗺️Then we will jump onto Owlbear Rodeo (Virtual Table Top on computer or phone, very user friendly) to interact with a custom map of my make. Most sessions will have the world map and a new grid battlemap (for exploration or battle purposes). ♟️Each player can bring their own token (virtual miniature .png of your character) or choose from a list of pre-downloaded ones. It's easiest to upload your own by making an account on Owlbear Rodeo, but not required. 📣As the Game Master I do voices/accents for the NPC's and encourage any players to try out their own but is not required. I don't offer ambient music (only because of my ADD) but I highly encourage my players to listen to music on their own (as long as there is no audio bleed). 🃏I mostly stick to RAW (rules as written) HOWEVER if you have an idea or want to get creative with an ability/spell/item, i will throw the rules out the window for something that's cool and makes sense. So both RAW and Rule of Cool. ⚔️Combat is deadly but balanced, and there are many ways to avoid PC death when the group works together. There are plenty of healing potions and other magical boons to find in-game, so party class balance is not required. 🏴☠️I will give clear "story hooks" (path towards the main story) BUT they are never required. Choose your own adventure (with the rest of the group in mind).

Safety
How Adam creates a safe table
The first half of Session 1 will be a "Session Zero". In it we will discuss expectations and safety, which includes x-card/stop-light systems and any potential lines/veils that may come up in Session 1. I will then send a custom consent checklist (digital message) that must be filled out and returned before session 2. After all checklists are collected, a master-list will be made and sent to the whole group (digital pdf). Aftercare will be the last 15 min of the session (or the 15 min after the session has ended depending), where the group will go around for "Stars & Wishes". (Compliments and positive feedback). If any issues, questions, or concerns ever arise I am always happy to message or chat on a zoom call. My player's Safety and Comfort are top priority.
