About the adventure

"Everything changed on that fateful day. Looking back, I know that whatever we did changed our lives forever. The sky raptured and something strange came through. It was a great adventure that showed us how little we knew about the universe. It was scary and yet magical. I wish we could do it again." Adventure as a kid in the 80s that never was! Adults are distant, school is boring, and oh yeah, there are robots and hoverships about. Although you share your hometown with the mysterious particle accelerator facility known as the Loop, your life seems ordinary until a strange incident one night changes everything for you and your friends. Tales from the Loop uses Free League's Mutant: Yero Zero engine, easy to learn but great fun to play. Payers play kids who balance their ordinary lives with strange mysteries caused by the presence of the Loop. This campaign uses the book "They Grow Up So Fast", a series of four linked mysteries spread out over one in-game year. The game will run on the Alchemy Virtual Tabletop Tool, which is a highly useful service for running Free League games and enables easy access to everything needed to run the Tales From the Loop Starter Set.

How to prepare

You will need a mic and a free Alchemy account. Reading the rules is helpful, but I am also able to teach them since they are quite simply. You do not need to create a character beforehand, although knowing what you might be interested in playing is useful and you can choose to create your character early if you wish to.

What I provide

I'll bring the Alchemy system, which allows for images, maps and even music and sound effects, plus over a decade of experience GMing games. I focus on making sure all the players enjoy themselves and am seldom a stickler for the rules.

Gameplay details

Alchemy builds in the ability to create Lines and Veils as well as use X cards. We will create any needed Lines and Veils at the beginning of the session.

How will character creation work

Characters will be created during our first session, although pre-gens are available. Character creation is relatively simple in Tales from the Loop, but you will want to give your character's personality and background some thought.
