About the adventure

An epic adventure running from level 10 to 20, pitting players against one of the most legendary figures in the Dungeons & Dragons world - Vecna! Players will charge across the multiverse in an attempt to thwart the evil Vecna's schemes. This campaign starts off at level 10, and will tax experienced players in brutal fashion as they travel through various realms that D&D has been set in - from Eberron to Greyhawk, and more! The book runs for 256 pages and adds in over 30 new monsters to provide a proper challenge. From the book itself: "Save existence from annihilation in this epic, multiverse-spanning adventure. The notorious lich Vecna is weaving a ritual to eliminate good, obliterate the gods, and subjugate all worlds. To stop Vecna before he remakes the universe, the heroes work with three of the multiverse’s most famous archmages, travel to far-flung locales, and rebuild the legendary Rod of Seven Parts. Vecna: Eve of Ruin™ is a high-stakes DUNGEONS & DRAGONS® adventure in which the fate of the multiverse hangs in the balance. The heroes begin in the Forgotten Realms® and travel to Planescape®, Spelljammer®, Eberron®, Ravenloft®, Dragonlance®, and Greyhawk® as they race to save existence from obliteration. A DUNGEONS & DRAGONS adventure for characters of levels 10–20. For use with the fifth edition Player’s Handbook®, Monster Manual®, and Dungeon Master’s Guide®"

About me

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved making stories and sharing them with other people. Growing up in a small town, sharing ghost stories and tall tales made up much of my childhood. Dungeons & Dragons offers the unique chance to take this sharing a step further and create a cooperative story. It only took me a few games to really get hooked on the experience. I'm in my 30's and I have been actively playing for a little over 20 years, switching solely to a DM since 2001 when Third Edition came out. I have had a few years to develop my ability to create unique characters with distinct personalities, and I enjoy using custom voices as well to give each a truly unique feel. I enjoy running campaigns that allow freedom for players while providing a clear and coherent plot. I usually stick with written material and adventures, and adapt them as necessary in order to allow more freedom and agency for players.

Creating your character

Any published official D&D material can be used. Characters start at level 10 and can use Point buy (27 points) or default to the standard array of 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, and 8. Session 0 will focus on character creation, but please feel free to bring your character already made if you feel so inclined! We will be using D&D Beyond for character creation.

How Allan creates a safe table

Session 0 will allow a discussion on the kind of story and play that will be involved, and provides players with a chance to review any limits on what topics can be broached in-game. We will be having a break near the half-way mark for approx. 10 min each game.
