About the adventure
Can you hear the ticking behind the walls? The gears turning, grinding, moving just out of sight? Or have you lived your whole life in the light, never suspecting the true nature of reality? In this long-term RP-heavy weekly cosmic horror campaign, using the Chronicles of Darkness system, you will play Mortal characters in a dark mirror of our modern world, brought together by disturbing events that will grant them mind-bending glimpses behind the curtain of reality. What they see and experience will change them, and the world itself, forever. This campaign starts small and local, focusing specifically on the player characters and their neighborhood and work, as they begin to get their first glimpses at the truth behind the strange things that they've been ignoring all their lives. As the characters discover more and the true cosmic scale of the horrors they face becomes clear, their individual choices and relationships will continue to shape the story even as they rise to face, fight, and maybe even defeat the God-Machine that twists reality by its mere existence. If you've ever wanted a chance to rage against the God-Machine, to look the all-powerful Thing hiding behind the walls of reality right in its cold, incomprehensible eyes and say "No", this is the campaign for you. How to prepare
Players will need a Discord account for game correspondence between sessions, and for any updates, announcements, or news regarding the game. They will also need a microphone for session play. Cameras/webcams are not required, but are more than welcome, and optional. I love teaching systems, so previous knowledge of or experience with World of Darkness or Chronicles of Darkness systems is not a requirement. However, for the sake of all players and the flow of the game, I gently encourage you to take the time to look over the documents you will be sent once you join the campaign, especially the quick-reference and rules explanation before we start. I will be available on the Discord to answer questions and clarify any system-specific doubts you might have.
What I provide
I will provide PDF's of the core game system and rules, as well as printable materials for character sheets, weapon cards, quick references, and more. I will also be providing a Discord server, atmospheric music and images, maps and other handouts throughout the game.
Gameplay details
All players will receive a link to a Lines and Veils document, and we will have a full group Session 0. During this session, we will discuss the themes and topics of the campaign, to ensure player comfort and safety. This is a horror game, sure, but that means I want your characters to be horrified- I want the players to have the time of their lives. Character creation will also be handled during Session 0. After each session, we'll have time for aftercare, disconnecting from the characters and helping with any bleed, and of course sharing both Stars and Wishes for this session and the next.

How will character creation work
Character creation will be done at the table during Session 0, and I'll be present and ready to assist with answering questions or providing suggestions both during that time and during specific 'office hours' in the Discord server. I will also have some pre-gen characters ready, and happy to work with any players to customize them. We will be making Mortal characters within the Chronicles of Darkness system, and you will be provided with reference PDF's and quick-reference sheets to help you build them. In addition to standard Mortal characters, those who wish to have a bit of supernatural flavor to them will have access to the Psychic and Thaumaturge Merits from the 'Second Sight: Third Eye' supplement, which I will also provide.
