Giant Slayer | The True Story [Beginners and π³οΈβπ friendly]
Pathfinder 1e | Campaign
About the adventure
"Fee-fi-fo-fum! I smell the blood of adventurers. Be they alive, or be they dead, I'll grind their bones to make my bread." A mysterious death shakes the life of the small town of Trunau, and while everything seems to point to a suicide something mysterious looms in the shadow. But little do they know, quested into figuring out the mystery our party of adventurers will embark in an epic journey of glorious battle, tremendous foes and dreamlike wonderers. Giant Slayer is the sixteenth Adventure Path by Paizo, where the players are up against tremendous orcs and mighty giants in order to preserve the lands of Golarion from a sinister treat that dwells away from sight, unseen and unheard. Giant Slayer is an adventure from 1st to 16th level, heavily focused on combat but with a fair amount of investigation and roleplay. If you are up for intense dungeon crawling, stunning fights and rushing into battle headfirst this is the adventure for you!

How to prepare
β’ A stable internet connection. β’ A browser to access to the FoundryVTT website, Chrome and Edge are verified options. β’ A Discord account, since I use the program to videocall with everyone. (https://discord.com/) β’ A working microphone and set of headphones β’ A working webcam is recommended but not mandatory, and everyone is welcomed in the way they are most comfortable with. I also always advice to have a physical notepad with you to take notes on dialogues, names, loot etc. It can also be done digitally but I always found that my players tend to have a greater immersion in this way.
What I provide
Tools and platforms β’ I use FoundryVTT to host the game, creating a digital space where the adventure takes place β’ I use different tools to make custom tokens and maps (Inkarnate, Dungeon Scrawler etc.) β’ I create dedicated Discord server for the group to chat, store infos and videocall with everyone during the sessions β’ I also tend to use a lot of custom made handouts, original soundtracks and other homebrew content. Character Creation β’ Character creation will take place before and during session 0, although I am available off time for consulting or videocall about it. β’ Uncommon and creative choices for races, traits and classes etc. are very welcomed but to be discussed to best fit the story and setting. Bring on all your crazy ideas! β’ I can provide a set of Guidelines for creating the characters' background from which to draw inspiration. Roleplay I use character voices according to the style of the players, if they prefer a more in-character/theatrical approach or an extradiegetic storytelling style for their characters. Combat and Rules β’ The tactical component of combat is very present, but as usual with Paizo's Adventure Paths it is designed for beginners as well. β’ I tend to generally follow the rules but bending them for awarding creative strategies and roleplay focused ideas. β’ I sometimes use custom game mechanics in order to handle any occurrence that may happen in the story
Gameplay details
For Lines and Veils we use the standard version by Monte Cook with some additions that I will forward to the players. The X, N & O's are communicated through chat directly with me or in the group chat, as you are more comfortable with. In session 0 I also plan to go over what are your expectations for the group and the campaign, both for your characters and for your experience as players. Code of Conduct βIt is severely off-limits to harass other players in any way that can cause them discomfort (such as sexual harassment, misgendering or discrimination) βIt is off-limits any actions that breaks the rule of conduct of StartPlaying

How will character creation work
β’ We will create the characters sheets together through sessions zero and one. β’ The characteristics will be determined with the building points system (a system where you have a certain amount of point with which you can buy the scores) β’ Starting level for the characters is level 1. β’ We use Background Skills optional rule β’ It is possible to use pre-generated characters if you previously tell me at least 12 hours before the session β’ I can also provide some guidelines for the background creation for those who may need them, that are kind of a series of ideas from where to start with. β’ The characters sheet will be done with Foundry. Options recommended for the mood of this adventure are classes such as fighter, paladin, ranger, slayer and cleric, and races such as dwarves, gnomes and half-orcs.
