About the adventure
Welcome to the Sharn Inquisitive You will get to play an intrepid reporter from Sharn’s most respected (at least in some polls) newspaper. You will cover organized crime, evil cults, ruling councils of wizards, orc tribes trying to claim the King’s lands and bandit gangs stealing high fashion on behalf of powerful hags. And that was Tier 1. Tier 2 promises even more exciting action, as we leave the city of Sharn and get to explore all the nations of Khorvaire… including the frightful Mournland. Why should I play in an Eberron campaign? Two words. Pulp. Noir. With pulp, you will be dueling with enemies on the roof a fast-moving train. You’ll dangle off the side of airships. You’ll take on whole bandit groups with only a handful of reporters at your back. With noir, the mysteries are complex and you never know who to trust. So far, our group has encountered not one but two wealthy femme fatales who tried to off their husbands. Your first quest giver has ties to organized crime. One of the current quest givers is accused of being a killer himself. You want to solve mysteries like Bogart or Raymond Chandler’s characters? This is your game! Why should I play in an established campaign? We are currently at fifth level. Our group has been gaming together for over a year. So sure, it can be intimidating to jump in this late. This is the best time to get in. You start at fifth level. You get Fireball, Banishment, multiple attacks, and gain abilities that make you superhuman. The groundwork has been laid. Looking for missing kids and husbands was tier one. Now you’re on to mysteries that could cause the whole continent to fall back into global war. You are unraveling pieces of the Draconic Prophecy. The stories are going to be even more interesting; and have higher consequences. This campaign has a track record. We’ve proven we are going to last and continue to schedule games for you to enjoy. We won’t ghost you and vanish without a word. I’m running a long-form Eberron campaign. You can be confident you are joining a campaign that will serve you for years to come. Also, Electric Eberron promises the full Eberron experience. Want to use Forge of the Artificer? No problem. But you also want to use character options from Keith Baker’s Frontiers of Eberron and Exploring Eberron? I support you using these products to make characters that reflect the quintessential Eberron experience.

About me
Garrett is a podcast host, of Threat Detected, Threats From Gallifrey and the long-running One Ring AP Threats From Mirkwood. He has written for D&D, Paranoia and Savage Worlds. His games are pulpy with a good amount of roleplaying. If you like jumping out of a moving vehicle onto a horse and hitting the rider with a flaming golf club, you've found the perfect gamemaster. I run for teenagers plus age-wise. I like gaming with kids, but I prefer the older age demographics to avoid the distractions that come with an open age range. I've proven myself to be amongst the best Dungeon Masters in the country by being selected by Baldman Games to repeatedly be selected to run the coveted DDXP slots at GenCon, which are reserved only for the best Dungeon Masters to provide an extraordinary experience for the players.
View Profile →Character creation
Creating your character
You can create a character using the 2024 PHB, Eberron: Rising From the Last War, Forge of the Artificer, Frontiers of Eberron, Xanathar's and and Exploring Eberron for making characters that are both unique and appropriate for the Eberron setting.
We have Pine, a warforged druid, Kerric, an investigative human rogue, Eremyssa, a tiefling archfey following warlock, and Argus, a goliath barbarian.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Watch a classic Humphrey Bogart film noir movie. Read a little Raymond Chandler to get you in the feel for the setting. If you have access to the Eberron books, flip through them for inspiration of what kind of conflicts your characters might stumble into... or what kind of characters you want to play.
What Garrett brings to the table
I will provide a physical copy of the 2024 PHB, Xanathar's, Eberron: Rising From the Last War, Forge of the Artificer, Frontiers of Eberron, and Exploring Eberron by Keith Baker. These are the only books we will use for creating our characters and selecting spells and subclasses. I can create pregens using form-fillable pdfs to be made available to players. If you have a D&D Beyond account you may use it for character creation, however yo will not have access to the material in Exploring Eberron. I will provide the mysteries for you guys to solve, battle maps for the combat and tokens to represent your characters. I will also create custom tokens for the NPCs you encounter.
Homebrew rules
We will use the DMG from level up 5e called Trials and Treasures, the Monstrous Menagerie from Level Up 5e as well as the WOTC 2024 books. You guys want to be surprised, right?

How Garrett creates a safe table
We will have a session zero where we discuss the campaign and expectations about what will be covered and what won't be covered. Once we are in game play I plan to use the Sly Flourish verbal X card, where if you feel triggered by contents of the story or actions of fellow PCs call out, "Pause the Game." We will stop, regroup and only continue when everyone feels safe.
