About the adventure

Imagine a world where magic is real, mythical creatures roam the land, and ancient kingdoms rise and fall. This is the classic Dungeons & Dragons setting—a vast and vibrant realm where adventure waits around every corner. You'll be creating an adventurer to help shape this ongoing-saga by joining a group of fellow storytellers around this virtual-table. This campaign aims to build bonds out of character around the virtual-table as well as in-game around the campfire. Roleplay is going to be a large portion of game play with tough combat being a DM favorite as it arises. If you're hoping to find a long-term setting for your character to call home, this campaign might be for you.

About me

Greeting Adventurers! I'm the Guildmaster (Marcel) and DnD/ content creating is my full time job. Below you can find a link to my ever-growing 'Session Zero Document' which goes over the setting, my DM style, and other campaign questions more in depth. This should give you a great idea if my setting fits your play style and I sincerely hope you join me in this growing world. If you see one of my settings interests you but is in the wrong timeframe, reach out to me. I'll do my best to accommodate. Player enjoyment is one of my highest priorities. I hope to encourage communication between my players and myself to hear, understand, and work to resolve any issues that might arise. If my players let me know that something is less than ideal for them, it will be something I do my best to keep in my thoughts moving forward. https://docs.google.com/document/d/135HDkBNcRK9tmcu1S1ThqSzeQO3J8o0BT5zIGDpPim8/edit?usp=sharing Here is a recent YouTube video I made outlining how I run laws in my setting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgQGtYJr4hg&t=173s

Character creation

Creating your character

I will help during Session Zero or our Session .5 to create/ review your character. I'm not opposed to you having a concept or character in mind when you come to the table but please be open to change. For example, I will stress ties with other party members when creating your backstory.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

- Plan to have a call with me to go over Session Zero specifics and character ties with group members. - PC with stable internet connection (mobile not recommended) - Mic needed - Webcam optional - Roll20 account - Discord Account - Token artwork representing your character (can be a googled photo, heroforge token, AI image, or whatever else you want as a visual to represent your character) - For backstories, I ask for two versions. The first version that is a 2-3 sentence summary (very short and easy to read at a glance) and the second version about 2-5 paragraphs (This is what I'll use to tie you into the world.) - Leave room in backstory for bonds/ relationships with other PCs (will be discussed session 0) - A visual description for your character. When the group first meets you, I normally ask "What do they see? What is apparent about your character?"

What TTTomes Guildmaster (Marcel) brings to the table

How TTTomes Guildmaster (Marcel) creates a safe table

We have our consent checklist in our Links & Resources channel in our StartPlayingGames discord section. We will go over the consent checklist during a session zero. Safety Tools Consent Checklist - is in the ‘Links and Resources’ channel in our Discord Server. I’ll also be sending it to multiple people, as this section was added late to the Session Zero Document. This will give me the best heads up about triggering content to try to remove from sessions. Speak Up - Let me know the current situation is not one you enjoy as a player OOC. Speaking up doesnt necessarily mean verbally, if that makes you uncomfortable. Speaking up could be sending a DirectMessage to me as GM. Let me know the current situation isnt a comfortable one. If your message isnt immediately voiced by me, a simple “DM, check your messages” should prompt a swift response to the situation. Step Away - Some players might feel the need to step away from the game for a period of the session. They might step away to let the moment of discomfort pass, collect themselves, or write the DM a detailed message about their current state. You do not need to clarify what or why something has bothered you if you do not want to.
