WW20 Dark Ages: Causus Belli

WW20 Dark Ages: Causus Belli

It is a Dark Age indeed, but somehow the shadows of Transylvania are darker still. This is fortuitous for those Garou who would call the place home...

About the adventure

The Long Night has fallen over Europe. In the East, Europe quails before the Seljuk Turks, with the Mongols behind. Constantinople, long the jewel of Christendom, wilts beneath the rule of its Latin conquerors, no longer a bulwark against the enemies of the Cross. None of this is your concern. Men will war among themselves, as they always have. Your lot is to serve Gaia in Her wars. Right now, the time is ripe to strike. The minions of the Wyrm squabble with each other, leech against leech. Those fools who would consider themselves Lords of Creation join the fray, unaware or uncaring that they join a greater conflict. The shade of the Carpathians hide many secrets. Usurpers and would-be rulers of the night should take care, for the ascendancy of the Shadow Lords is finally at hand...

About me

Howdy! My games tend towards the sandbox, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law and all that. I'm a big believer in the power of narrative. The best stories are always about ideas more than plots. That's not to say that it's all arthouse allegory, but the plot should be about more than a list of bad guys to thwart and loot to steal. (Except, of course, when that's the story being told. Context is king.) If you show up for my games expect a certain amount of history, satire, and the odd pop culture reference in the mix. I tend towards horror and comedy, as I find they complement each other well, but again, depends on the game. I also offer personalized one-shots for players that miss a game- you aren't on auto-follow, you're off doing things. Need to miss a game? Don't worry, I got you. (DISCLAIMER: In D&D based games, this may involve trips to Ravenloft, play at your own risk. Scheduling difficulties may interfere with this offer, but my schedule is pretty flexible.) Bigtime into Butlerian theology- "Thou shalt not make a machine in the likeness of a human mind." No AI-generated anything 'round these parts. Years of Blood Bowl have turned me against elfs. Play at your own risk. You can call me "Jeremy" if you really need to.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters can be made beforehand, I am always available for discussion of what works within the context of the game. I prefer to work with players on concepts instead of banning things outright, but I do have my views on people who try to bring me Mokole Abominations with mummy retainers...

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Mic is necessary, webcam preferred as expression is a big part of communication, but not a requirement. You will need your own dice, though.

What Diamond J brings to the table

I bring a discord channel and a story. I will also make character sheets available. I'm not big on random number generators, though, so you get to roll your favorite math rocks in the comfort of your own home. I trust you.

Safety

How Diamond J creates a safe table

The goal of these games, while exploring a number of darker themes, is never to make anyone uncomfortable. Players are encouraged to reach out to me any way they feel is appropriate to communicate about the content of the game and their own feelings of safety.
