Beyond Azure Coasts | PF2e | A JRPG-inspired island adventure
About the adventure
The Province of Greek within the Romun Empire stands testament to the cultural diversity of Teira. Nearly four million in population, it is the gateway to each of the three continents- Aesa, Afroca and Eresia. Here, our story begins. You have come to this place for reasons your own, but the goal is the same for those you will meet: You're here to board the world-renowned Lombardia, a massive new-age ship more than a thousand feet long bow to stern and even taller from keel to mast. It carries itself with indestructible Whitesteel and carved Buinos wood along the heavily reinforced hull, breathtaking polished marble and halls of gold-inlaid stones. Thousands will board this ship, en route to the capital of the Province of Xandria, Corianth. A week out from departure, the vessel is being readied and the many passengers flock to the streets of the city that hosts such a cultural melting pot, flanked by hundreds of thousands there for their own living, merchantry and more. Though braggart and grandiose, the city itself is humbled before the massive statue of its' founder- Tethys Ilrumon-Keet who fought in the War of Unification during the Time of Twilight 500 years prior. The province of a devout land in servitude to the Goddess of the Stars prospers, but the dark secrets of a world once destroyed and long forgotten are beginning to blossom twisted flowers of ill-intent once more. A few unlucky souls will find themselves wrapped in a story beyond their own understanding, beyond any truth they have heard claimed... And they will find it Beyond Azure Coasts. The Beyond Azure Coasts campaign offers you the following: š¹ A highly detailed world with a living history that you can explore freely through (free) backstory sessions š¹ A pantheon of nearly a hundred new deities of various evils and goods, with many conflicting wills thrown together š¹ A familiar world- an alternate Earth with a magical take on real-world cultures and disasters š¹ An unfamiliar fate: history lost resurges here with many voices and claims- you must discern fiction from falsehood š¹ Hundreds of deeply detailed cities, countries, artefacts and thousands of NPCs š¹ An incredibly lengthy campaign with a great focus on the people within the world, segments of a world up to you to determine if you stand for or against new truth š¹ We will focus heavily on RP and exploration, with a later focus on combat and crafting š¹ Campaign specific rule sets designed to help enhance your experience, like the BREAK Status, monster crafting and a slew of QOL features for balancing

About me
The heavens crumble as stars fall, the day breaks and twilight awakens. From the small townships at the edge of a island to the distant galaxies of universes unknown, from the stories we all know to the worlds beyond. I run primarily Pathfinder2e (and "soon" Starfinder2e), Call of Cthulhu and a custom XCOM/Pathfinder inspired sci-fi system "Rise of the Polity". Most of my campaigns include elements of body, cosmic, environmental and existential horror, deeper-set political intrigue, setting exploration and rely heavily on player willingness to be taken into some very long RP scenes. Admittedly, I'm not the best at running combat, but I am improving, so please understand that my descriptions during encounters may be lacking. I enjoy running backstory sessions for my players to give them a better understanding of their backstories, help them flesh out the world and understand more of the plot threads they wish to chase. Additionally, I usually write PC-specific quests that can be pursued during downtime or breaks between sessions, allowing you to go into a solo adventure, or pair up with other people for a specific quest line.

Sets the Mood
If you like in-depth stories and lore they're the DM for you. They take the game seriously and are always trying to make things better in terms of both story and mechanics, and have it so that the two complement and work with each other. And don't worry about autonomy because in their games, your actions WILL have consequences... for better or for worse. If you don't like large groups or struggle with digesting a lot of lore and mechanical info, they probably aren't the DM for you. Even for lore junkies, their world-building can be a bit overwhelming at time. But if you like BIG stories, you couldn't ask for a better GM.
I'm someone who struggles with severe aphantasia; I can't see things in my mind's eye. When playing with Chorus, that is never an issue. Chorus's maps are a work of art. The attention to detail is breathtaking, and I've never seen stronger visual language than in their creations. That attention goes into every step of their worldbuilding as well. I highly recommend Chorus for any and all curious players!
Character creation
Creating your character
š¹ You will need a working microphone and a stable connection. š¹ A Discord account (it's free). š¹ Firefox is recommended for FoundryVTT.
This campaign is set in a wholly unique world with nearly 150 new languages for custom nations, societies and religions, a slew of well-refined additional mechanics (Overhealing, Monster Crafting, etc) to help create a unique experience. The average session will often entail a lot of dialogue between players, NPCs and intermittent bits of heavy narration detailing the surroundings and effects of player involvement within the setting. This campaign relies heavily on seeking and responding to the lore that hides within every corner of the world. As this is a character-driven narrative, you are encouraged to make mistakes and revel in the back and forth chaos of the various conflicts you will be inserted to. Session 0s will be quite lengthy and include several hours of lore diving and allow for you as the player to question the history and facets of the world to better create a fitting character.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
š¹ Have a high quality microphone š¹ Native English speaker š¹ Willingness to RP and engage with plots outside the main narrative š¹ Have moderate to intimate knowledge of the mechanics of Pathfinder 2nd Edition š¹ A free Wednesday evening š¹ Player introduction will be done during the 1st Session 0 š¹ Character creation will be done during the 2nd Session 0 š¹ Play will begin at 6:15 EST even if not all players are present
What Chorus brings to the table
š¹ I actively am willing to work with you extensively on backstories and character development, including supplemental and backstory sessions (that are free) to help you learn more about the world and get a better feel for your character. š¹ I will always bring music or other ambiance to the session as a storytelling aid. š¹ The campaign relies on Theater of the Mind, maps, scenery and character art to varying degrees based on location and necessity. Graphic visuals will be given proper warning in advance. š¹ I have a few lore documents established that are works in progress and consistently are being filled with new information, such as locations, deity information, culturally significant lore and societal hierarchies. These documents will be given to you during the 1st Session 0.

How Chorus creates a safe table
š¹ You can expect extremely lengthy and meaningful dialogues and social encounters. š¹ You can expect moderately lengthy exploration and downtime narratives that can be freely pursued at any point. š¹ You can expect moderately lengthy combat encounters and sometimes cinematic/"cutscene" fights that will not rely on initiative or action economy. Combat encounters will often be on the more risky side with greater rewards. š¹ Session 0s and backstory sessions will often contain information about possible triggers and harrowing scenarios. š¹ Aftercare, therapy and recaps are all available for players after the session. Any and all feedback is appreciated.
