For stats, you can roll 4d6, dropping the lowest die, or choose to use point buy if you prefer. I usually give everyone a free feat and common magic item to help you better specialize your character and provide some extra tools to enhance your experience. Feel free to use any official books without needing to ask for permission—I'm all about making sure you have the freedom to create the character you envision.
