About the adventure

Robot dinosaurs stampede through city streets. An invisible bank robber strikes again. Aliens from another dimension conspire to conquer Earth. Halcyon City needs its newest team of superheroes, but where are they? Detention. They're teens. Do you want to be a superhero, but your schedule won't let you? This is a Play-By-Post campaign of Masks: A New Generation. Instead of meeting for sessions at a certain time, we'll play by the written word on Discord. It's easier to find a moment or two to post throughout the day than to carve out a couple of hours for a game session.

About me

Hi! I'm Tristan (he/they). I podcast, I read books, I have chronic migraines, and I crochet more blankets than can be used by any one person in a hot climate. Oh, and I play/run ttrpgs. Like a lot of people, I started out in college with Dungeons and Dragons. I was especially captivated by the role-playing aspects and party dynamics. Circumstances conspired against me, and I didn't get to play any ttrpgs again until about 2017. I've been playing steadily ever since, and within the last couple of years I've gotten really brave and started running a few different games. My favorites are rules-light systems that have a heavy emphasis on character and story. My games are queer, trans, and disabled person-friendly. (I'm all of those things, so it would be really weird if I wasn't inclusive.) I love collaboration, so my players are able to really shape the world around their characters.

What Tristan Ash brings to the table

I have links to character sheets and rules, and I'll post them for reference in the Discord server where this game will take place. I look forward to running Masks with the written word, because it will give me plenty of time to cook up really great descriptions of the action and dialogue. I LIVE for role-play, and I can't wait to get into the messy lives of teenage superheroes. Rules are important, but I routinely bend them when the story is cooler without them.

Safety

How Tristan Ash creates a safe table

We will discuss Lines and Veils in the chat before we start the game, and I will create a whole channel where I will post the list for reference. At any point, any player (or me) can post an "X" in the chat or a private message, and play will stop immediately so that we can discuss the issue and change whatever went wrong. It's pretend, and nothing is set in stone.
