The Essential Guide to Monster Hunting | Hunt and Craft Gear!
Dungeons & Dragons 5e | Campaign
About the adventure
Listen up, so-called "hunters": Can you truly call yourselves that while leaving your prey to waste? You slay a dragon but only walk away with a few trinkets, leaving the useful parts for scavengers. And what about the owlbear you supposedly defeated? Did you keep any trophies? No! You just told stories at the tavern to impress your friends! REAL hunters carve off parts of their prey to create gear and food to tackle tougher challenges! So, which are you—a "hunter" or a MONSTER hunter? Join our guild and prove it! 🏹 Join the hunt with the updated 2024 rules, compatible with 5e! New to the game? We’re here to help! 🧭 Explore different realms to track your targets and uncover their weaknesses. What will you discover along the way? 🦖 Encounter new, powerful foes in serialized adventures as you climb the guild's hierarchy. Will you emerge as a master hunter or fall as the hunted? 🛠️ Use your harvest to craft gear, magical items, and food. Some can be personalized. Let your imagination run wild! What will you create at the workbench? 🧙🧞🐲🦝 A colorful cast of quirky characters, from rival hunters to marketing automatons, awaits you on your adventures. Who will be your friends and enemies? 👤Explore new player character options, including new species, the tamer class, several subclasses, and spells introduced by a particular half-orc huntress! Will you serve the gods of the hunt, harness the powers of life itself, tame monsters to become your allies, or master the art of mystical cuisine?
Game style
Roleplay Heavy
“Roleplay Heavy” games place the focus on the story, the characters, and the world they live within, and tend to lean hard into the various roleplaying elements of the game. These games will frequently find the party talking with NPCs, exploring the personal elements of their backstories, or even having emotional moments around the camp fire.
Rule of Cool (RoC)
“Rule of Cool” emphasizes creative story beats over sticking to a system’s rules as written. Players have the ability to push the limits of the rules or even break core rule mechanics at times if the Game Master thinks it is interesting, fun, or cool enough.
Current party: - Bummers (gnome legacy biomancer wizard) - Louis Normandie (corvum 2024 bard/ undead legacy warlock) - DOK (mycelian kenku artificer) We'll be using milestones for leveling and the current level is 4. Hunts will go up to level 20.

Curtis is an excellent game master and I would definitely seek him out to play great games! He came very prepared for session 0 with clear structure and did a great job of getting some strangers all on the same page. His NPCs are interactive and he has a strong understanding of mechanics. For those looking for high-rated 5e community content, like 'Heliana's Guide for Monster Hunting', Curtis can provide these 5e+ materials to make sure your game is memorable with new tools to use.
When I had my first campaign, I was immediately impressed by the fact that he has an outstanding ability to come up with scenarios and make natural changes on the fly based on player choices and input. No railroading here, player agency and creativity are a top priority with this GM. Everyone has their time to shine. Ex. Who knew that my humble bard character would help defeat the final boss just by using the "go ethereal" ability not many people think is really that useful, and not many GMs know how to utilize it in combat. a true virtuoso of interactive storytelling and someone who is always willing to meet you half way when it comes to having your character play a role in sometimes year long overarching plots.
I've had him as my DM in a Fellowship Campaign for over a year now. He has a great sense of humor and highly adaptable in both storytelling and scheduling. Excellent in building OC characters and has no shortage of plans for multiple mission options. Inclusive and respectful of character diversity and within OC development. He leaves a lot of room for creativity in player's choices and in some rule adaptability when needed. Well versed in rules of our current Fellowship campaign. Ensures all players have room to be included and involved in game play and are given important lore or development depending on each characters needs or for the progress of the campaign, whichever is appropriate or needed at the time. He's full of surprises and unusual twists in environments, likely when its least expected. His great strength is in diverse character voices and scene descriptions. Great at keeping track of actions/consequences of choices being made. NOTE: He's not afraid to make you care about OCs and kill them off out of the choices you make! Look out for your OC pals! ;)

How will character creation work
Here are some guidelines for character creation: - Character sheets will be available to create and edit on the journal tab on Roll20. - You can use the character creator feature to simplify building your adventurer or start from scratch. - Stats will be determined by the standard array or rolling 4d6 and dropping the lowest die. - For newer players, I will assist in any way I can help in character building and understanding mechanics. - You can use the rules provided in the Roll20 compendium. However, you can inquire about using other references that can be edited into your sheet as well. - If you want to jump in without all the complicated steps of making a character, Roll20 provides several premade ones you can select to start playing!
