About the adventure
Set sail on The Wildsea with Elliot Davis, the Firefly from My First Dungeon's latest series! In this 4-6 shot campaign, we'll build characters, learn the rules, and tell an epic tale across the rustling waves. The Wildsea is a fantasy TTRPG by Felix Isaacs that takes place atop the trees of a planet wide forest that has overtaken all in an historic event known as the Verdancy. You will play as Wildsailors, those reckless individuals who board chainsaw powered ships in search of adventure and story. Take on the role of living Cacti, moth-like humanoids, and even spider hive minds in this one-of-a-kind imaginative world unlike anything you have ever played within. The beauty of The Wildsea is that you will help shape the story of this campaign! No two versions of The Wildsea are the same and we will work together to create our own verdant waves to explore. Do you want an epic tale of adventure? A swashbuckling pirate romp? Or maybe you prefer to dive into the horrors beneath the waves? The choice is yours! This table welcomes players of all experience levels and all identities. Elliot has experience teaching games at conventions, on podcasts, and to friends and family. Questions are always welcome and encouraged. Safety is a top priority and we will make use of safety tools including lines and veils and the X card.

About me
Hello! My name is Elliot aka "moreblueberries". I am a podcaster, game designer, and artist based out of Brooklyn, NY. My tables are collaborative, safe, and open to players of all skill levels. I've been GMing for a few years now, on and off mic, and would love to use my experience to help introduce people to more new games. Some things you can expect: -Character-focused worldbuilding -Highly collaborative storytelling with roleplay strongly encouraged -Use of safety tools & zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind -Fun! Of course I am so excited to be GMing with you and can't wait to hear the stories we create together! If you would like to hear an example of me GMing, check out My First Dungeon!

Creating your character
We will handle character creation in session 0 though you are encouraged and welcome to look through the Wildsea character options in chapter 7.
Looking to start up towards the beginning of September and go for ~6 sessions!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Before Session 0 we should: Connect on discord - I am @moreblueberries Download the Wildsea Quickstart (no need to read all of it but good to peruse) - https://www.myth.works/products/the-wildsea-free-rules-kit Think! - This is an easy one. Have a think through: -The kind of story you want to explore -The kind of character you might want to play -Are there genres or tropes you would love to explore? Safety Tools - I will share a form for Lines & Veils ahead of session 0, please fill it out And... Get ready to have fun! Excited to take this journey with you!
What Elliot brings to the table
We will use primarily theater of the mind with some visual aids for big moments. Wildsea is not a tactical game, placing emphasis on story-first mechanics so there is not much need for a VTT. I love to share music during play (listening in is completely optional) and have the full soundtrack of My First Dungeon presents: The Wildsea and tree shanties from the season to share throughout. I am a huge fan of role play and will often speak in character for NPCs (silly voices abound). Players are encouraged to use whatever style of role play suits them, whether in character speech or more third party description. I love to dig into the mechanics of a game but always default to the rule of cool and the rule of player fun. I will endeavor to be an expert on the rules so that you the player don't have to be. At times, I may introduce some twists or interpretations on mechanics, with player buy-in. Ultimately, I place a huge emphasis on collaborative worldbuilding in my games, turning questions over to players to help flesh out the world within and outside the mechanics of the game. I want this to be a version of the Wildsea that you feel as connected to as I do.

Safety
How Elliot creates a safe table
The above content warnings are highly changeable based on players' lines & veils! Safety is a priority at my tables. There will be an x-card at every session as well as an open-door policy where you can express any and all discomfort direct to me or out loud to the table, through the X card or otherwise. Before start of play, everyone will be asked to share their lines & veils. This can be done completely anonymously. I will also do a final check at the first session in case anyone would like to add additional lines & veils. I always love to have a 10-15 min debrief where players can express their stars & wishes for the next session. Safety is an ongoing conversation and lines, veils, and use of the x card can be changed to suit player comfort at any time. There is never a point where you are not allowed to bring a concern to me about your safety.
