About the adventure
Are you a Stranger Things fan and are curious about what Dungeons and Dragons is like? Do you have experience already and are just looking for an expert to help you with your own DM skills? Whatever your reasons, I am more than happy to help you get started and show what fun D&D can be! My name's Jari and I'm a Paramedic and Union/Labor organizer living in Queens. I love teaching people how to play new games, especially tabletop games, and there's nothing more satisfying than a good in-person session of D&D.

About me
I am a supervisor and Paramedic for the FDNY. In my daily job, I lead teams and handle high-stress situations. I bring that same professional, organized attitude to every D&D game I run. Why Play at My Table? I am reliable. I show up on time and I keep the story moving. You will never be left wondering when the next update is coming. I keep it simple. Whether we are playing over text or in a live session, I help you with the rules so you can focus on the story. I am a pro. I know how to manage a group so that everyone has a good time and feels respected. My Game Style I run "Dark and Gritty" games. The world is dangerous, resources are low, and your choices have real consequences. I like stories about survivors and "blood-debts" where you have to work hard to win. I am bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently.

Creating your character
I will provide a wide variety of preg-generated characters to help us dive into the core mechanics of game play. ALTERNATIVELY, we could spend our time together going through the character creation process itself. Character creation is almost like a game in and of itself. Once you have been initiated into the DnD community you may find that you enjoy MAKING characters almost as much as PLAYING them!
What to expect
Preparing for the session
You don't need to do anything to prepare. As long as you have a desire to play this game of adventure, story telling and strategy then you are all set to book a session with me today! Alternatively, you could download the "Basic Rules" .pdf from the official D&D website and do a bit of reading beforehand: https://dnd.wizards.com/what-is-dnd/basic-rules

How Jari creates a safe table
Players can expect a relaxed but professional session where we will go through the very basics of the game. Our hope is that by the end of the session we will be able to run through an actual sample play session.
