How to prepare

This is an asynchronous play-by-post game played by Discord with the Avrae bot. This means that posts will be made throughout the week; it's to the pace of the group. All playing will be done by text, making things accessible for those who aren't able to use voice. I will update at least daily. You will get to experience the story and the roleplay, while also learning about--or getting more experience with--play-by-post format and Avrae. ✅ Download Discord: https://discord.com/ Once you sign up, message me on Discord. The game itself will start once everyone is ready (you will not be charged until we begin). =============== PLOT: Expanded - This story begins around the start of either the Harry Potter Books or Hogwarts Legacy (Specifically during Dumbledore's Year). Where your character is going to start their journey depends solely on your background and upbringing, but will involve getting to experience getting a letter as an 11 Year old and going to Diagon Alley before eventually getting to go to Hogwarts or whatever Wizarding School you want to go to. This does not mean I discourage you from choosing another school or another era perhaps! This story will be yours, but I recommend it be within reason and you will start from nothing and become great via study and practice! Feel free to reach out with your unique ideas that you want to come up with.

What I provide

Ben, your GM, provides an incredible experience, with the help of various tools from 10+ years of experience with text roleplay. His games include: 🔹 Working one-on-one with you to weave your character backstory in and make this a unique experience. 🔹 Adding his own twist to the story and accounting for character actions and interactions. This is not a static world, and the echoes of the party's choices will be seen. 🔹 Giving characters boons and magic items and scaling up monsters to make combat engaging and challenging. Monsters will not hold back, but the DM will root for your success. 🔹 Creating NPCs with motivations and personalities, who may help or hinder the player characters. Maintain friendships, rivalries, make enemies or even potentially lovers (with consent). 🔹 Customized heroic rivals that will try to oppose the party at every turn. 🔹 Custom (homebrew) content and systems for Harry Potter/Wizarding World from the DM and third-parties. 🔹 Pre-generated characters or concepts, in case you do not wish to create your own.

Gameplay details

I hope to make a place where all can feel accepted, regardless of race, gender, beliefs. 👨🏾‍🦲♾️🏳️‍🌈 Safety tools will always be in effect; this game is a safe and inclusive place. We will use safety cards, Monte-Cooke consent form for lines and veils, and any other safety tools the group needs. I am neurodiverse and a LGBTQIA+ ally, and I seek to provide a safe table for all my players. Accessibility is a big part of the game, and accommodations will be made to meet your needs so that you can have fun. How will character creation work

🔹 Character creation details can be discussed and changed! This is YOUR game after all. This is just a basis on what I typically allow. 🔹 I will be using Discord to help walk you through the character creation process, but please don't hesitate to ask if you need any help or have any questions. This game is open to new players, and I am happy to answer any questions and provide guidance. I also allow homebrew (custom content) and third-party content, with the disclaimer that if something is too powerful, we may need to adjust it to maintain fairness between players. I am willing to work with players to help them create the characters they want, including custom races or other special abilities. Here are some additional details about character creation: ✅ We will be using several Homebrews that provide Wizarding World and Hogwarts RP in 5e. We will discuss more once you sign up. ✅ Level 1 start, with the option for Dichotomous (2 Subclasses). ✅ Free feat at Level 1 plus Heritage Feat. ✅ Heroic Array: 18, 17, 16, 15, 13, 11 ✅ Maximum HP ✅ Start with a Magic Item or Two (Within Reason) ✅ Starting Gear ✅ Be thinking about backstory and what kind of witch or wizard you want to be. Do you want to be a Pure-blood? A Half-Blood? Some sort of Half-Giant or Muggle-Born? Make sure to explain to me where you want the story to begin (Whether it's during the Books or Hogwarts Legacy era or some other settings) and what School you wish to go to (Whether that's Hogwarts, Ilvermorny, or elsewhere).
