About the adventure
The Cold War heated up, leading to nuclear war known ultimately as the Mutual Destruction years before the Berlin Wall would have fallen. The world, or what was left of it, limped through the aftermath. Humanity rebuilt. The effects of nuclear warfare were everywhere, however, indelibly marked into the world’s history like a tattoo, changing the world as we knew it down to its base atomic parts. It is now 2025 and in the 45 years After Mutual Destruction (AMD) silver linings like advancements in medicine and technology have allowed society to catch back up to where it might originally have been pre-war, with a…well, a few surprises. Preliminary research is spotty and largely conducted on military officials in closed clinical trials, but it would appear that the outpouring of raw nuclear energy has had a profound effect on our DNA, leading to the birth of a generation of hyper-evolved humans with spectacular and terrifying abilities. In the rise of this knowledge humans did as humans do and responded with fear, calling for the corralling or the culling of these so-called “anatomically atomic” and in extreme cases, seeking out these individuals to teach a lesson, usually in the form of severe beatings. A lack of governmental response has allowed for a drastic rise in crime, further fraying the tattered remains of America. A new watchdog group known as the New Conservative League waits with torches and pitchforks poised, certain these so-called “evolutionary shortcuts” pose a growing danger to civilization. The An-Ats, as they have taken to calling themselves in safe company, have largely gone to ground to wait out the oncoming storm of violence, gathering in tight-knit, tight-lipped communities trying their damndest to stay off the radar, but in recent years a very brave — or furious — few have taken to the streets to confront their oppressors and, hopefully, turn what remains of society into a place with room for everyone. You are one of these brave few, using your powers for good when you venture into the night in disguise to fight for justice and equality. Society doesn’t appreciate your efforts just yet — you’re likely to be beaten, arrested, or worse if caught in the act of vigilantism, but the people you protect in the streets do. To them, you’re not just anatomically atomic — you’re a hero. A second, much warmer war is on the horizon and approaching fast: An-At against human, vigilante against local police, whole cities turning themselves inside out in a chilling echo of events nearly half a century past. The time has come to decide what side of the neon line in the sand you’re going to stand on and what you might be willing to fall for. The City of Tomorrow needs you, hero. See you in the streets.

Meet the Game Master
About me
Hi! I’m Abadonne Darlington D’Artagnan Kilbride, IV and I would absolutely love to run a game for you. I’m a creature of myth, Gorgon of old, TTRPG streamer, writer, creator, and Founder at Exquisite Corpse Presents: A Home For Unusual Stories . In the effort to become the confessional poet of tabletop role playing I write, produce, and run Say a Prayer for California: Sister Cities, a post-apocalyptic dystopian DnD 5e homebrew, and La Naissance D'Une Reine, a Thirsty Sword Lesbians homebrew set in the years following the death of King Arthur. I’m a founding cast member of Blackness and Dragons and has appeared on Going Critical RPG as Loset Lee, Lore Everlasting as Petra Pellucid and Siddalee Ware, and on the fully-crowdfunded A Tale of Two Lions hosted by @AnoriandGD. My written work can be found in BeNeverending’s anthology, Anansi’s Tapestry of Lives, and my confessional chapbook Styx River Anthology is available on Bandcamp.

My game with Abadonne is the first campaign I've ever been part of and I could not be happier with the experience. They have a great "Yes and..." quality that helped me find my footing as a player and over come my hesitation. If you're a new player who's hesitating to jump in, I can't recommend joining one of Abadonne's games enough.
DK hosted a game of 10 Candles mixed with Good Society set in the Salem Witch Trials and it was one of the most amazing games that I have experienced through SPG. The world and history were richly established, the characters were complex and interesting, the presentation was fantastic. I am looking forward to playing more games with them in the future!
Character creation
Creating your character
Guided character creation will take place collectively during session zero, which will last approximately 3 hours prior to the beginning of the actual campaign. The requisite materials for Masks will be provided ahead of time to allow players to conceptualize their characters and final tweaks will be made between session zero and session one.

What Abadonne brings to the table
I love open world sandboxes that allow the players to create their own story within an established narrative, and that’s what I aim to do here — while the world of the Metalliteens, Atomiguard, and their crime-ravaged home cities is vast enough for each player to find something of interest to them to pursue, I as a GM aim to weave the details of your characters into the existing narrative and make your superhero team’s campaign specific to you. I will provide an edited “primer” regarding major points of interest in the universe, important NPCs, locations, and points in the history of our alternate timeline. Included will be hyperlinks to Pinterest boards, playlists, and other resources to help you integrate your hero into the world! I will also provide the following of the currently published Masks materials for character creation: - Masks: A New Generation - Masks: Halcyon City Herald Collection Playbooks - Masks: Basic Moves Cheatsheet

How Abadonne creates a safe table
Players can expect to be sent a link to the Monte Cook RPG Lines & Veils document, which we will go over as a group during Session 0. X/N/O cards can be utilized visually over Discord or in chat at any time (for the sake of commonality we will be using the 'Traffic Light' red-yellow-green system, but these terms can be called out or held up with a card in a corresponding color), and this table is an open table so should you need to leave for any reason please feel empowered to do so, with or without explanation. That being said, I invite you to reach out to me personally and express your concerns to see if I can address them at or above the table - my priority as the facilitator of this game is your fun, so please feel free to let me know how I can help you tell the story you want to tell.
