About the adventure
What is #iHunt? Freelance monster hunting. Think if Buffy the Vampire Slayer used an app like Uber to find monsters to kill, and her primary motivation is making enough cash to pay the rent. It’s set in a hyper reality version of our world, where the gig economy is scarier than your average Wolfman. In the world of #iHunt, people are JUST aware enough of the supernatural to know there’s an app for stopping monsters. Most people think it’s a scam or a joke, that is, until a vampire moves into the vacant house across the street. About this Gig-Based Campaign This #iHunt adventure is part of a plan for a long-term, gig-based campaign. What I mean is that it’ll work like an old 90s TV show like the X-Files. There’s an overarching plot with an ongoing story. However, individual play sessions will be isolated “gigs.” This is to say, every story will have the characters hunting a monster on the #iHunt app. However, the results of these stories will be tied together in a sort of “living campaign.” I’ll be creating videos and news reports based on the consequences of your actions, and if we get multiple games running, you’ll be able to respond to the messes other hunters have left in the world.

How to prepare
-Working mic (natch) -Computer that can handle Discord and maybe a browser window if you want to look at Owlbear live. (Both are free to use!) -A camera if you're up to it. Love to see your smiling face to know if my jokes landed or not. That's it! I can provide you with everything else!
What I provide
We'll use Discord for organization and audio/video calls. Some combat and exploration scenes will use a VTT like Owlbear Rodeo, all with free sign ups for players. I will provide players with sheet guidance and aids so you'll never have to crack a book to play if you don't want to! If you'd like an idea of how I run a table, I streamed several episodes of my own game #iHunt with the Critshow! You can check that out here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb9QudaBHls&t=707s&pp=ygUSI2lodW50IGFjdHVhbCBwbGF5

Safety Tools: The Level Sheet This is our “level sheet.” Before the game, every participant will be able to fill out the level sheet to tell me what they want in their game sessions, what they don’t want, what they really want, and what they’re okay with so long as it’s off-screen. This sets the baseline, and makes sure everyone has a say in the story’s contents. #iHunt is a dark humor game, and it takes an irreverent tone toward the injustice and brutality of the world. As Bad Religion said in their song Punk Rock Song, “This is just a punk rock song, written for the people who can see something’s wrong.” #iHunt is a game full of social and political commentary—it doesn’t shy away from that at all, but we stab at the world with humor. Tonally, think What We Do in the Shadows, The Boys, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The level sheet is there to keep you safe in case parts of those stories would hurt your enjoyment.
