About me
Hello, I'm Michelle I started playing and GMing TTRPGs more frequently back in 2018. It was around that time I played my first D&D Adventurers League game and I was hooked. The idea of having a character that could travel from one table to another and interact with this large immersive world, was really appealing to me. This is idea of larger than life stories has really influenced both my play and GM style. As dreadful as the pandemic was, the only thing I'm thankful for was the opportunity to experience so many virtual games. It was during this time I was really able to develop my skills as a GM with groups like Unite the Factions, AL Nordic and later Baldman Games. In addition to GMing I love writing both fiction and TTRPGS. I mostly write through DMS Guild, and my titles include Gold Best Seller Waterdeep: Kitten Rescue. (which I've had the absolute joy of seeing played by other GMs on Start Playing Games) I run mostly D&D 5e, and I'm a big Forgotten Realms dork. Waterdeep: Dragon Heist is my favourite hardcover adventure. Many of my campaigns and one shots draw inspiration from that storyline. I also think the Underdark is so neat, I love spiders and have pet tarantulas. Any day I get to create stories about cozy caves and geek out about spiders is a great day.

Creating your character
Characters will play as members of the mercenary band Bregan D'aerthe. The source books describe the membership as typically drow from Menzoberranzan or other Underdark Cities. However in this campaign characters do not have to be drow or even from the Underdark. Create a character that you will enjoy playing. Players are encouraged to create a character prior to session 0. Come up with a character or two that you would be interested in playing. At Session 0 we'll flesh out the characters' goals, backstory, and assign additional equipment and magic items. Characters begin at level 5 Character creation can use the following books: ( will be available in the Roll 20 compendium) Players Handbook Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse (Player options) Xanathar's Guide to Everything Tasha's Cauldron of Everything For starting equipment please choose from options provided in your background and class. Standard Array will be used to determine stats. If anyone has any questions or concerns about character creation do reach out.
Explore Waterdeep: Dragon Heist through the eyes of Bregan D'aerthe by far one of the most fun factions to be found in the City of Splendors. This version of the adventure takes the beloved urban treasure hunt to a higher level with more storytelling, more swashbuckling and perhaps a few more spiders along the way.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
This adventure will be using Roll 20 and Discord. You will need a working mic, but webcams are not necessary. You can create a 5th level character prior to the game using the provided Roll 20 compendium or another method of your choice. There will be pre-generated characters if you prefer. At the beginning of each session there will be a mini table talk. This will be a re-cap, opportunity for player questions, on-boarding of any new players, and general table check-in.
What Michelle C brings to the table
- A Roll 20 room with maps, and compendium of D&D resources. -Player Feedback Forms to share what you like about the session and what you would like added or changed. -Flexible DM style. I try to stay Rules as Intended but sometimes the dice are needlessly cruel to players or a really cool idea comes along that needs to be explored. -Story driven campaign where the characters are interwoven into the storyline.

Safety
How Michelle C creates a safe table
This will be a roleplay and intrigue heavy adventure. My goal is to provide opportunities to allow each character to shine, and to tie their stories into the main campaign plot. Roll 20 Safety Tool Deck will be provided in game. There will be one scheduled break but players are welcome to take any additional breaks they may need. In session 0 we'll go over setting, story and characters as well as play an introductory adventure.
