About the adventure

Welcome to the Kettokaze region! A land filled with ancient mysteries, incredible dangers, and untamed pokemon! As new trainers on this wild frontier, you will be thrust headlong into the conflict between the Pokemon League and the native islanders. Brave fierce storms, Discover ancient secrets, and choose who to support, as you battle your way through Pokemon Dueling Storms! This game will consist of a 3-way split between combat, roleplay, and exploration, though it can lean more heavily toward one of these three pillars or another depending on player preference( dictated at session 0). It will also see the player characters engaging with several factions, some strange and others familiar.

About me

Hi, I'm Joseph, The Dungeon Joltik. Since I was young, I've been fascinated with Pokemon and entertaining friends and family with role playing games, and now, 7 years later, I'm looking forward to entertaining you. I run D&D 5e, PTU, Pokerole, and Sonic Tag Team Heroes, and have been doing so since 2016. I'm also willing to try other systems if you have an eager party. Lastly, I write my own adventures and love to see how new players approach my worlds.

Character creation

Creating your character

Characters will be conceptualized during session 0, with additional work being done until time is up. Characters must then be completed on your own time by session 1. Whether this will be PTU or Pokerole will be decided during session 0

What to expect

Preparing for the session

Players should prepare by having a device with a microphone and discord, a computer with a web browser that can access roll20, and an account for both aforementioned sites. We will use voice chat through discord and roll20 for maps and visuals.

What Dungeon Joltik brings to the table

I will aid in character creation, help to find a good character picture online, and I will have the game entirely ready to play so that on session 0, you will only need to show up with your happy selves, and on subsequent games, you will only need to have your character sheet up to date.

Safety

How Dungeon Joltik creates a safe table

Players can expect a game where their decisions matter. You will be free to do what you want and go where you want but no action will be meaningless. My descriptions will suck you into whatever situation you find yourselves in, but, if needed, I can hold back for the young and squeamish. The people you meet will be fun and personable but not without the ability to fight back. Lastly, combat will range from easy to hard, but never unfair, and will reflect in-game choices and player requests (i.e. "make it harder" or "lower the challenge"). In regards to the above content warnings, they refer to the possibility of player death due to harsh weather or evil team encounters gone horribly wrong, and Team Rocket stealing pokemon, neither of which I thought were too bad for most kids to handle, but both of which, I figured, deserved being mentioned. Additionally, one, or both, of these can be opted out of should players find them upsetting.
