About the adventure
Love roleplaying games but especially the GAME part? Love min-maxing and making the most powerful character you can imagine? Looking to test the abilities of the reworked classes and subclasses in the 2024 Players Handbook? Test your skills in the Mad King's Nightmare, a DND game mode developed by me! Make the most powerful level 6 character you can using the New DND PHB(multiclassing allowed), See how long you can survive, rack up as many points as you can before the mad king claims your soul! Each "dream" you will encounter randomly generated monsters with predetermined attack protocols. Make the most of your abilities and spells to defeat them, roll on random loot tables and prepare for the next fight! As soon as one of you goes down it's game over or a big score penalty, so play smart! With 19 unique nightmares going on 20 this is a great way to test that character you've always wanted to try! About me
I'm a gaming enthusiast, a GM with many voices, a patient teacher for new players, and I love it when players come up with creative solutions to my creative problems! One thing you'll never need to worry about with me as your guide is going off script, I will make up something if the Party suddenly finds a rug really interesting, I will create a use for those artisans tools that have no use. I will throw out what I had prepared and go with your ideas when you have good ideas, or we will all have a good laugh if your ideas are off the mark or you roll that dreaded 1. Fun is the name of the game, so let's stretch our imaginations and get to fun in as many ways as possible!

Creating your character
Bring a prepared level 6 character (multiclassing allowed). Use the following array for your ability scores (before adding racial bonuses): 17, 15, 14, 12, 10, 8 Ammunition is unlimited There is no way to achieve surprise in this game mode so keep that in mind. Any reasonable (just ask) mundane item you wish, you may have. For heavy armor wearers go splint mail, for medium armor up to breastplate is allowed.
A small party of characters will fight through 4 random nightmares, attempt to escape the Mad King’s Labyrinth, then fight the mad king himself. Each nightmare contains pre-generated monsters with “attack Protocols” that determine how the monsters will act, opportunities to use the resources in the nightmare to upgrade their equipment (with risk of course) and the opportunity to roll on Loot Tables. Points are awarded for clearing the room without a character dropping below 0 HP, and for clearing the room quickly. Once the Players have survived the 4 rooms they must try to escape the Mad King through a theater of the mind Skill challenge where basically any skill the players have can be used to attempt to escape him. If they succeed, they go on to fight the Mad King himself, if they fail, the Character’s souls are trapped here forever! Fighting the Mad King is no easy task. In fact most of the time, players should fail. But points are awarded for spells that the Mad King Casts, Legendary resistances he uses and damage caused by the Characters. *Important thing to note! Because this is designed to be able to be run without a DM, things that would usually be up to the DM like “can I climb on the dragons back?” are simply not possible. This is more of a board game than a standard DND adventure.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
Have a mic for Discord, Be familiar with the DND rules of combat especially how your spells and abilities work. I'll send a foundry link that you can simply click to join. Dice accountability is important so ideally if you can create your character on DND beyond and import them to foundry or send me the details of your character so I can create it on Foundry for you, that makes it really easy to roll from your character sheet. Otherwise you can roll straight from foundry and add your modifiers the old fashioned way :)
