About the adventure

For my first time doing GM work on this site, I thought it would be fitting to run the first D&D module for some newcomers to D&D. So I'm calling all new and novice adventurers; if you've never played D&D before, or are just starting out, I'm happy to give you the chance to dive into the Lost Mines of Phandelver!

About me

Hey! I'm Jake, a 24 y/o DM that has been running campaigns since 2019. I specialize in D&D 5e and have multiple multi-year completed campaigns under my belt. If you're looking for someone to run a module or homebrew campaign with an emphasis on keeping things fun and inclusive for everyone, I'm a great choice. No matter the setting, no matter the duration, I'll do my best to craft a story that your party will tell tales about for years to come.

Character creation

Creating your character

Character creation will all be done in session zero, to insure a cohesive party where everyone can feel important. Things like stats and starting level will all be discussed there as well.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

The only prep that's needed is a Roll20 account, a mic, and a good attitude! I have all the books and rules prepped and ready, so no stress on new or novice players.

What Jake brings to the table

I will bring all maps, minis, and information needed to run the campaign, as well as assistance creating personal minis for the players. As for gameplay, I often use voices to help distinguish GM vs NPC, as well as use a nice handful of the rule of cool when available.

Safety

How Jake creates a safe table

For my safety tools, I like to do a pre-check-in as well as a post-check-in. We will go over things that we are and aren't comfortable with at the top of the game, and then again at the bottom to make sure everyone is still having a good time. I am also perfectly happy with gam being interrupted if something comes up that is making a player uncomfortable. I also plan on having breaks, depending on how long the session is booked for. These will allow players to eat, drink, etc; as well as give them opportunities to discuss plans moving forward.
