No Room for a Wallflower
Lancer | Campaign
About the adventure
This campaign is meant for players who are new to Lancer. It will run from License Level 0 to License Level 5. You will begin as fresh mech pilots, only just granted your General Massive Systems licensing by Union as an emergency measure en route to the world you will be stationed on. Veteran Lancers are welcome as well. We will be using the No Room for a Wallflower, Dustgrave, Karrakin Trade Baronies, The Long Rim, and Operation Solstice Rain LCPs. Players can find these online or direct message me for them. I recommend using the COMP/CON Lancer companion webapp for character creation and tracking during combat. Welcome to Hercynia, a broken world lost in the ravages of time. This place has known many histories, and many more names. On Ardennes-3 the first mechanized chassis strode, spitting superheated gas from their plasma casters and setting alight the world. On Ardennes-3, the Second Committee fought a great foe, only to be overthrown by the revolutionaries known today as the Third Committee of Union. In their haste to withdraw and crush the rebels, the Second Committee unleashed legends of myth forged by man to destroy this world; some say that ships were crashed into it at nearlight, while others say that the radiation from nuclear warheads still lingers to this day. No matter what you believe, the world of Ardennes-3 - Hercynia - was buried beneath bureaucracy by the Second Committee before it was forced out of power by the Third. Not knowing the world's history, the Third Committee of Union granted Landmark Colonial the planetary charter fifty years ago. Now, the colony has released a distress signal, calling for aid as raiders attack it and overwhelm the colonial militia corps. You, Lancers, are the closest asset that Union has. You will arrive on-world fourteen months after the distress signal was sent to find a colony still beleaguered by an unknown threat. You will uncover gaping wounds in the world and its people, find the truth of the Second Committee's unspeakable crimes on this world, and save the people of Evergreen.

How to prepare
The only equipment you, as a player, will need to bring are Roll20 accounts, Discord accounts, access to the COMPCON.app website, a copy of the free Lancer Core Book from Massif Press, and a willingness to have fun.
What I provide
I have access to all published Lancer content, and am familiar with almost every piece of equipment in the game - including its add-ons, referred to as Lancer Content Packs (LCPs). LCPs are free for players to acquire, and I can help you find them if you are having difficulty. In addition, I can help you realize your character concepts, whether they be a techno-warlock who worships MONIST-1 or a grizzled mercenary from the Dawnline Shore. As a GM, I do not use ambient music, and my character voices have (unfortunately) little variation, though I do try to include it. Combat is tough, with enemy factions each having their own method of fighting. As Lancers, you aren't beholden to normal tactics, though - think out of the box and I'll reward you. Sticking to the book is allowed, but I'll let you fire your Howitzer point-blank if you make it sound badass.
Gameplay details
In Session 0, we will discuss the above-listed content warnings. I will give examples of what you may encounter, and you will tell me if the content is problematic. If it is, then I will adjust it. That said, there are some things that are unavoidable - in mechanized warfare, there will be death, be it your friends or foes. In addition, some of the above are major plot points for No Room in a Wallflower, meaning that their inclusion is unmitigable. I will distribute the link to the X-card by John Stavropoulos if you do not already have access to it. In order to use the X-Card, you will DM me either a tilde (tread carefully) or an X (stop). Alternatively, you may say it aloud ("I'm not comfortable", "Stop", or anything along those lines). Remember Rules #5 and #6 of the X-Card - you do not explain why you use it. It does not matter why you use it. The table is only having fun if everyone is having fun, and that is why you are here.

How will character creation work
Character creation will happen in Session 0, after all players have approved of the game's content. Characters will start at License Level 0, and they will be created on the COMP/CON companion webapp for Lancer. We will use the No Room for a Wallflower, Karrakin Trade Baronies, The Long Rim, Operation Solstice Rain, and Dustgrave LCPs - all of which can be found online, or provided by me upon request. Once characters have been created on COMP/CON, DM me a statblock on Discord. This is generated by going to the character's Narrative Profile, selecting the cog on the bottom of the screen, selecting "Generate Statblock", clicking the bubble field next to Full, selecting Copy to Clipboard, and then pasting in in your direct messages with me. I'll critique your build and offer advice; for example, a character with the Duelist talent but no Main Melee weapons wouldn't benefit from it, and that player would be upset by not having full use of their talent points. Once I've given your build the green light, I will transcribe it to Roll20 for you.
