About the adventure
Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk takes the already outstanding Lost Mines beginner adventure that expands the original tale into a campaign running from levels 1 to 12. Excellent for newcomers to tabletop gaming and veterans looking for a new twist to a fantastic older module, you'll battle fearless goblins, meet a wide cast of locals who are ready to help or hinder you, discover twists, and uncover a plot from deep below that will decide the fate of all above and below! This adventure primarily takes place in and around the quiet and charming village of Phandalin which sits nestled in the embrace of the Sword Mountains just a ten-day ride south from the city of Neverwinter. Abandoned for centuries Phandaliin has just recently been re-settled. In Phandalin farmers toil out their days for a modest living, miners see if there is valuable ore to be found in the nearby mountains, and people from all over the Sword Coast come to find some peace and a new beginning. As a village in the frontier dangers abound making it the perfect sort of place for new adventurers to make a name for themselves. With rumors of troublesome goblins who accost travelers and merchants along the Triboar Trail, you've been hired to escort a dwarf bringing supplies to Phandalin. Just a simple job for some easy coin. Right? Interested? Ready to create your story? Then jump right in!

About me
Hello! I am not one to toot my own horn so here is just a little about me, My name is Nic and I've been DMing for around 7-8 years now and playing in various TTRPGs for a little longer than that. I've run multiple campaigns for various groups of friends and strangers some of whom even became friends I still play with. Like many, I got started running paid games during the pandemic and do my best to bring value to my games by taking what I earn and reinvesting into my games by subscribing to several Patreons and services to enhance your game experience. Is this necessary to have an enjoyable time? Of course not, but I firmly believe if you are paying for something you deserve more than just the standard/default experience. I love the RP in TTRPG and always encourage my players to do so. At the same time, I like the idea that enemies know what they are doing so try and play them according to their stat blocks which tends to make combat more challenging and interesting.

Games are weekly at 8:30 pm PDT on Thursdays, except on major holidays, unless everyone is able/willing to play. We are trying out/learning the 2024 rules. Currently, we have a Warlock, a Cleric, a Wizard, and a Paladin.

How Nic creates a safe table
We will play using Discord for voice and Foundry VTT for everything else. I don't care if you use D&D Beyond if you wish; however, due to several mods not working properly with rolls from D&D Beyond, we will be rolling in Foundry. A decent personal computer and internet connection are required. Tablets and phones are not recommended. Tabletop role-playing games are meant to be an escape from our daily lives. The content is rated mature as it includes the topics you can find in the content warnings. Members of the party are expected to work as a team while being open and respectful to all. Above-table prejudices, including racism, misogyny, homophobia, and transphobia, are NOT acceptable and will lead to your immediate removal.
