How to prepare

A good microphone is required as a hard limit. My voice server is on Discord, so you will need to get Discord and setup a free account, and join my discord server. Use of a webcam in Discord is totally up to you, if you turn on yours, I will prolly turn on mine, but my default is simply voice chat. I like to use a voice changer for voicing certain characters, but in general you'll just be hearing plain ol' me. Foundry does have a chat window and there's text channels in discord, of course, but in session it's hard for me to notice texts while GMing and listening to the rest of the party. The game will be run on Foundry-VTT. This runs in any internet browser, though it is meant for a desktop with keyboard and mouse; it is not built for touchscreens. You will need some graphical capability to handle a decent amount of images and effects. I host the server for this on The Forge (forge-vtt.com) so you will need a free player account there to join my virtual table. If you are new to Pathfinder 2e and have no clue about the options you have to build with, a shocking amount of the system's content is available freely online at the Archives of Nethys (2e.aonprd.com) and Pathbuilder 2e (pathbuilder2e.com)

What I provide

I like to use ambient storytelling, using sound effects and music to add clues as to what's happening. I use a lot of macros and scripting in the VTT to handle tedious GM things, like having perception checks done secretly by proximity or using macros to handle complex puzzles. I will be redoing all the maps from the adventure, as they are pretty basic and meant for table top, not a virtual table-top. In the doing I might add to tweak the maps to my preference, or to add secrets, or maybe it was just too cramped before so I'll make something bigger. I'm a big fan of metroidvanias, so don't be surprised to find nonsensical secret rooms that contain treasure (or traps) behind any random wall.

Gameplay details

Expect stuff you'd expect to see in a movie with an R rating. Anything outside that goes into a fade to black scene or not at all.

How will character creation work

A small snowy village has gathered together in their small temple to celebrate the winter solstice. The party is travelling through but gets caught up when things start to go very wrong. . . The Rise of the Drow adventure is designed for a party of 4, and starts at character level 1. We'll be using the Free-Archetype variant rule, though that doesn't affect anything until character level 2. Characters can be developed in advance, but during session 0 you will want to talk with your party and figure out how they will complement each other and how they banded together as an adventuring group, of which this adventure will be their first. There are also pre-generated characters you can use as idea springboards.
