About the adventure

Under smog choked skies, a lone figure stands silhouetted in the gilded boardrooms of Ravenloft Inc. The billionaire vampire CEO Strahd von Zarovich steps onto the balcony and stares down at the city lights below. The downdraft from his arriving helicopter pushes papers off the table through the open doors, billowing his coat in the darkness. A streak of neon splits the clouds overhead, and for a moment he is revealed in the pale electric blue. Mr. Zarovich turns to the sky, revealing the angular muscles of his face and hands. He has a look of power—and of madness. His once handsome face is contorted by a tragedy darker than the night itself. A crack of thunder pounds against the empty glass face of the corporate headquarters. The downdraft is replaced by a howling wind as Strahd turns his gaze back to the streets. Far below, yet not beyond his ken, a group of disruptors has just entered his domain. Strahd’s face forms a twisted smile as his dark plan unfolds. He knew they were coming, and he knows why they have come—all according to his plan. He, the CEO and board president of Ravenloft Inc., will attend to them. Another neon flash rips through the darkness, its thunder echoing across the empty balcony. But Mr. Zarovich is gone. Only the howling of the wind—or perhaps the beat of the rotors—fills the midnight air. The leader of Ravenloft Inc. is planning a major event. And you are invited. Want to eat the rich? Take it to the 1%? Come try this take on Strahd, because in the end Capitalism is always the BBEG!

How to prepare

Players will need: -A webcam -A working microphone and earphones to prevent feedback (headsets work great for this) -A Roll20 account (free account is fine) -A D&D Beyond account (free account is fine) -A Discord account (that works with their camera and mic)

What I provide

VTT (Roll20), content on D&D Beyond, Custom Maps I enjoy speaking in character voices. Rules are important guidelines, but I'm open to bending and or breaking them in service to a good story.

Gameplay details

I will provide links to the TTRPG Safety Consent Checklist and ask players to fill it out so that I can better understand player needs for the game. We'll start our campaign with a Session Zero. In it we'll go over all the safety tools we intend to use and how we will be using them. We'll also discuss lines and veils and work together to establish group norms and expectations. We'll decide how often we want to do debriefs and feedback sessions, be it every time or only occasionally. In game, we'll have a safety deck available to player use via the digital tabletop, as well as my being open to messages from players at any time. I'll create a Discord server to handle questions and concerns, as well as to give players a space to discuss the game, strategize, or just decompress with jokes and memes. We will check in briefly at the end of each game so that we can stay aware of how each other are feeling, and determine if there's anything we need to address and if so whether it should be approached more quickly than our established schedule would allow for. Stars and Wishes will either accompany our regularly scheduled debriefs or be handled via Discord as the players decide.

How will character creation work

We'll make characters after we have our Session Zero, so that everyone's on the same page and aware of each other's needs and boundaries before creating a character that might unintentionally cause harm. I will provide a character creation brief to help players establish their characters in the setting. Emphasis on brief as I'm trying to stick to the necessary stuff and not flood people with too much information. All characters will be created via D&D Beyond, and I'm happy to help players through the process of creation if such help is desired. The characters will start at 3rd level, having just a bit of experience before beginning our adventure. We'll decide at Session Zero how the stats are made, and discuss what sources will be used and how leveling up will be handled.
