About me

As with every profile, it's a work in progress. Most ttrpg folks have a dice kink. I have a systems kink. I have more books and systems than I'm ever going to be able to play, but I am damn sure gonna try. Here to run games I love and explore games that others do. Want me to run something particular? Let's have a conversation and figure it out.

Character creation

Creating your character

In this game, we will being the Star Wars: Force & Destiny RPG by Fantasy Flight Games. With a session 0, we'll create your characters and outline the scope and growth of brand new characters taking the first steps on the path to being a jedi. For players who just want to jump into the game, some pre-generated characters will be created for this purpose.

The current party

This is a "Learn to Play" campaign, so it will be open to all levels of experience with the game and RPGs in general. The pace of the game might be slower initially, to give everyone a chance to get comfortable with the game. We'll be starting with a free Session 0, to create characters and do an introduction to the system (for those who aren't familiar). Pre-generated characters will also be available if players wish. We'll also talk safety tools, going through each of the tools we'll use while at the table. We will be playing the original story, inspired by the Clone Wars animated series. So we'll talk about all things Star Wars and how it fits into the larger Saga.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

This campaign is inspired by stories told in the Clone Wars and Bad Batch animated television shows. Specifically for Clone Wars, the 4 episode arc in session 5 that starts with Episode 6 "The Gathering". More info can be found here: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/The_Gathering_(episode) Players can watch those Clone Wars episodes and watch both shows to get a sense of the type of story we're going to tell.

What Johnnie brings to the table

We'll be using roll20 as our VTT and Discord for our voice communication. This will be a narrative first game. We'll tell a compelling story and allow the rules of the game to help us get there. We'll talk about mechanics and figure out whether they make sense for the stories we're going to tell. I have extensive experience running the system and a love of all things Star Trek. My hope is to tell stories in the universe that fit within the canon of the movies and tv shows without being confined by them.

Homebrew rules

We’ll use a modified approach to character creation and advancement. Details forthcoming, but please ask questions.
