About the adventure
Tought for the day: “Even the purest soul harbors the seeds of corruption.” 📜 Campaign Overview: It is the 41st Millennium. A million worlds burn with the toil of uncounted trillions. The Emperor of Mankind, entombed in the Golden Throne, is worshipped as a god. His Imperium, vast and decaying, is a cruel colossus built on bureaucracy, war, and faith—rotting from within even as it wages eternal war without. Across the grinding depths of forge worlds, the teeming towers of hive cities, and the forgotten dust of frontier colonies, a hidden war festers. This campaign spans three sectors (Calixis, Askellon and the Koronus Expanse) —crucibles of corruption where secrets flow like blood. Noble houses trade in treason. Void-born dynasties broker heresy. Administratum archives conceal ancient pacts. From orbital spires to ash-choked manufactorums, power shifts in whispers and shadows, and what festers in one sector may rot another entirely. Under the banner of the Inquisition, you are tasked with exposing what others dare not name. Where lesser minds see coincidence, you trace patterns of doom. Your path leads through redacted histories, false saints, xenos relics, and forbidden truths that could unmake empires. The Imperium does not want what you will uncover—but it will not survive without your silence, your steel, and your sacrifice. Every confession carved in blood, every secret whispered before the bolt pistol fires—it all feeds the Imperium's silent war. You will walk where saints fear to tread, where only shadows and the Inquisition dare remain. The cost is your peace, your name, your soul. But the Emperor requires nothing less. 🔍 What to Expect: - Narrative-heavy investigation in a sandbox of intrigue and conspiracies - Roleplay-focused sessions with deep character development and social tension - Horror themes that explore the psychological toll of serving the Inquisition - Minimal combat—but when violence comes, it is brutal, swift, and final - A rotating dossier of leads, informants, traitors, and secrets - Classic Warhammer 40k tone: grim, gothic, and merciless 🎯 Your Role: You are not a hero. You are a weapon. A seeker of truth. A servant of something greater. Will you burn the heretic, suffer not the witch, and cleanse the unclean? Or will you become the very thing you hunt? This campaign is ideal for players who enjoy: - Deep, immersive roleplay - Investigation and deduction - Slow-burning mystery and psychological horror - A Warhammer 40k experience without the constant bolter-fire - Exploring moral grey areas and the cost of loyalty Knowledge of the system or setting is not required. New and experienced players are both welcome—just bring your paranoia and a torch to burn the shadows. “In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war. But in the deeper dark, there is only heresy.”

Meet the Game Master
About me
Forged in '79. Rolling the bones since 1992! 📣 Greetings and salutations, traveler! Have a seat and listen to my tale... 📣 I am Dimitris M. (Jim for short) and I hail from Greece. Most people know me by Lord Stendor, due to my booming voice which I try to keep detained. I have been a player and a game master for more than 3 decades. I have wandered in the endless paths, roads and starlanes of storytelling and met so many interesting people while having dragon hoards of fun! From classic Dungeons and Dragons to the World of Darkness to the Warhammer Universe, I have sailed through the pages of lore and adventures! I like to try all sorts of weird and fun new TTRPGs. I currently run campaigns in the various Warhammer universe games and Dungeons and Dragons. I am a details freak and I love to create new stories, situations and problems for my players. I am a fair player and even fairer game master, some may even call me "too soft". I am a strong believer that a GM is equal parts entertainer, judge and storyteller. It is the job of a GM to create a fun, fair and interesting environment for their players so everybody can enjoy themselves! The tables I run are expected to, first and foremost, respect the GM's judgement, but I am always open to listen to an argument first and judge second. I try to focus on narration, setting the mood and immersing the player in the environment. I also enjoy setting riddles and traps, so be careful. Currently, I run campaigns that focus on the Warhammer 40k universe (Dark Heresy 2e, Only War, Black Crusade etc.) and D&D (Greyhawk 5e), I soon plan to release a campaign in Warhammer Fantasy 4e and Imperium Maledictum here on Startplaying. I am always planning new stuff and I prefer to design my own material or to keep the essence of an adventure and redesign it to suit the needs of our current group. Come and join me traveler to the endless voyage within the pages of intrigue, fun and heroic deeds!

Creating your character
We will discuss your character's concept and how they came to be inquisitorial acolytes. Each player character should feel unique with weaknesses, strengths and their own identity. I will offer a personal session if possible for this to happen, free of charge.
This is an ongoing campaign with great people participating. We are in a quite advanced level XP wise. The Cell currently has: - Inquisitor Nathaniel van der Skar O.H.C., a Metallican former Adeptus Arbites always accompanied by his trusted Cybermastiff Ironjaw. - Sister Hospitaller Katya Angelica of the Order of the Quiet Sorrow, a savant and chirurgeon. - Kamilah, a hiver ganger with a socialite and stealthy operative. - Yorik, a voidborn psyker Diviner that has a deep dislike for the nobles he was forced to serve. There are also a few characters that are in reserve for their players to come back (and they are still alive), which they are part of the Inquisitor's secondary cell: - Interrogator Jewel James Lucidius, a Metallican gunslinger with a love for flight and driving. - Sister Retributor Superior Drusilla of the Order of the Bloody Rose, an old veteran that has been in stasis for many years only to return with a flame for vengeance against the enemies of humanity. - Rabalias Wrax, a Feral World Biomancer with a knack for hand to hand combat. [Currently in a coma] They are accompanied by two servoskulls (Jera the Traitor and Commandant Vernon), vehicles and contacts they have made in their adventures, to many to note.
