Creating your character
⭐ The characters will start at level 3. I provide pre-generated characters if this is your first experience with Aidyn. ⭐ Point buy or standard array for stats. ⭐ Average for health. ⭐ Once you sign up, you will be given document which will detail what races/classes are common in the world. You will choose from those provided, but I can be persuaded to open things up a bit. ⭐ You may start with any regular equipment, given by your background and spend 50gp to purchase anything else. ⭐ I'll provide the method and guidelines adapting D&D 5e to Aidyn.
Aidyn Chronicles: First Mage was an RPG published in 2001 by THQ. I was the Lead Designer on that project. I had the help of many many very talented people. This campaign, using D&D 5e, concerns a War between the humans and the Jundar that took place 150 years before that video game. Using an RPG allows us all to explore that epic time in the history of Aidyn Chronicles.
What to expect
Preparing for the session
• Players need a mic and webcam. • Players should be reasonably familiar the Player's Handbook. • While the game is enjoyable for any tabletop gamer, those familiar with the Aidyn Chronicles universe will get more out of play initially. • Details of the world situation in Gwernia will be provided, and I will make sure players are always aware of the particulars of the evolving story. • Make your request to join, and I'll provide the link to the Roll20 game. Log in, and we'll create a character together.
What Chris (Gerry) brings to the table
I provide: • Shard Tabletop. • Custom maps and Tokens (I create Tokens if the players wish or they can bring their own) • Zoom Connection providing video as well as audio • After the game, I provide a custom edited Session Summary as well as session transcripts I do occasionally perform character voices but, more importantly, I act out dialogue performing as my NPCs. The story comes alive as your PCs interact with in-world characters in a naturalistic and emotional way. I also pride myself on intense, dramatic combat, described in specific terms for both players, monsters, and NPCs. I strive for BOTH exciting action-focused combat as well as emotion-filled dramatic scenes. Always, the Rule of Cool supersedes strict rules interpretation. I don't ignore the 5e framework, but my additions improve.
