I first encountered Chris's work on the N64, where he was the lead designer for the first western RPG game I ever played. It introduced me to fantasy as a genre and greatly impacted my life. All these years later, I've had the great pleasure of playing in his tabletop game set in the same world, and it has been an excellent experience. Not only is he thorough in gauging the interests of his players, he's an able storyteller who values the collaborative experience of tabletop gaming. His approach to gaming is true to a creative's instincts: he cares deeply about characters and setting, and believes in working with players to craft the best story together. He comes to the table every week with NPCs, scenarios, and encounters that build into a deeper sense of narrative. I enjoy the emphasis on shaping the story around player choices, as well, and every encounter has been challenging but balanced-perfect for someone who experience and knowledge of D&D.
