About the adventure

A cure for vampirism. To many who’ve embraced the monstrous unlife of the NYC kindred, the very notion is not only unenticing, but downright preposterous or even offensive. Still, to those younger kindred still learning to navigate the night, the idea might evoke other emotions: homesickness for the mortal family and friends left behind in the daylight, or an optimistic hope for the chance to see the sun once more, or perhaps anger at the thought of someone having the gall to promise such an impossible thing. But there appears to be proof. Mortals who call themselves "The New Dawn” claim to be decades older than they appear, asserting that they, too, were once kindred, and have now been cured. And they all whisper one name: The Shepherd. But who is this person? What secrets do they know? And what is the price to pay for their offer of salvation? Will you come to the altar and let the Shepherd work their miracles on you?

About me

Hi! I'm Ryan (he/him), I'm 33 years old, and I've been playing and GMing TTRPGs for over a decade now. While I cut my teeth on D&D 5e and it remains my favorite, I've also made my way into other systems, including but not limited to: - Vampire: the Masquerade (V5 and V20) - Hunter: the Reckoning (H5) - Call of Cthulhu I'm a strong believer in the "rule of cool" and story over rules, and I make it my aim to make sure that all of my games are accessible and welcoming to everyone, especially LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC, and women. Above all, I know that we're all here to have fun, so that is my main priority in any game. I encourage any of my players to talk to me if something is not to their liking, and I will do my best to ensure we work out a solution. I look forward to playing with you!

Character creation

Creating your character

You will be playing as fledgling Anarch vampires, newly Embraced. I like a bit of flexibility with character creation, though, so we'll have a session zero (free of charge) in which we all create your characters together! All the clans in the game will be available to play, with the exception of Thinbloods. If you want to play your favorite bloodline from V20 or revised (Daughters of Cacophony, Nagaraja, Old Clan Tzimisce, etc.) we can certainly make that happen through the magic of homebrew, with the one exception of the Baali, because I don't really want to get into all the demon stuff in this chronicle.

What to expect

Preparing for the session

We will be using Discord for voice chat, and Roll20 for dice rolls and maps. Please make sure you have an account with both of these services. Please have a decent, working microphone/headset. Please come to session zero with an idea of the type of character you would like to play. Bringing character art is highly encouraged, but not necessary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Are you new to Start Playing? What Ryan brings to the table

I will provide any pdfs of source books we may need. I can also provide you with a character token or art if you need it. I also enjoy doing character voices and weaving player characters' backstories into the game.
