About the adventure
Learn to play DRAGONBANE in this evocative, beginner-friendly campaign! We will explore the map of the Misty Vale in this open-ended, player-driven rpg. This is a bi-weekly campaign you and I will create together. It will be the tale of your characters, their darkest secrets, and how we rarely remember that the most important things are often those first forgotten. While I have a general story in mind, the actual adventure will be shaped by the telling from each of us-- your characters being the driving force behind what we actually explore and discover. "The ancient and narrow pass runs through the mountains like an axe gash. Steep, moss-covered slopes rise to the snow-laden peaks that can occasionally be glimpsed through the veils of cloud. Somewhere ahead lies the Misty Vale, the legendary place where the empires of old stored their wealth and magical artifacts. It is the rumor of these treasures that has brought you here – the vast riches and arcane secrets hidden among the ruins on the other side of the mountains. And you are not the first to be lured by such temptations. Since the orcs started leaving the area, about a decade ago, a growing stream of settlers and adventurers have made their way to the Misty Vale."

Creating your character
Characters will be created on Alchemy, using their online character creator, based on the Dragonbane core rulebook. If you prefer paper character sheets, I support that as well. We will create characters together during the session zero, or we can work together before or during your first session to bring your character to life. If you prefer, pregenerated characters are also an option. What to expect
Preparing for the session
You will need a free account on Alchemy: https://alchemyrpg.com/ I will be using Alchemy's video chat to communicate during games. You can choose to use video, voice only, or simply type, whichever feels more comfortable to you. No experience playing Dragonbane is required to play. While knowing how to play ahead of time is a bonus, I will cover all of the rules during play. What Oakenspirit brings to the table
First- I will bring an open mind. This is a welcoming game and I will strive to make it a safeplace for anyone, no matter who they are or what they hold true. If you do not share this open mindset, this may not be the game for you. I am a storyteller first and a gamer second, so I am all about shifting the game to whatever shape tells the best story. Since we are using the Dragonbane system on Alchemy VTT, I will have video chat, music, sound effects, and character templates ready to go! Alchemy is completely digital, but I also absolutely support people who prefer paper sheets and physical dice. I've been roleplaying for decades and can't wait to add you to my circle!

How Oakenspirit creates a safe table
While we hold a session zero to go over most practices and concerns- Alchemy has its own safety tools, including Lines and Veils and XNO cards, so everything is super approachable. I will also send out documents for Stars and Wishes and will always be available to chat between sessions.
